2nd little surprise was the completely delightful discovery that chocolate digestives taste amazing when they are topped off with a layer of nutella! Yum!
{Don’t worry I’m still on weight watchers to lose the baby weight, but I treat myself a little bit on the weekends.}
3rd little surprise was getting to sneak away on Saturday for an hour to get a mani/pedi with my sister. Such fun and totally needed.
{I didn’t realize it until I left, but my nail polish totally matched my handbag.}
4th little surprise was finding out how adorable this little man looks with a hood!
{I have no words. So cute!}
5th little surprise was Jon finding the worlds tiniests’ Hermes box:
{Even their perfume samplers are chic.}
6th little surprise of the weekend was a trip to Home Depot. Normally not too thrilling or out of the ordinary, but we have been so busy lately that many DIY projects have been piling on our to-do list so it was great to have some free time to pick up supplies.
7th little surprise was finding time in the day to have a little swing in our backyard.
{Hudson thinks it’s pretty funny to swing back and forth.}
8th little surprise was finding a whole roll of vintage trim that I thought I had lost:
{It was quite the adventure buying this vintage trim. I went through loads of boxes during an outing with Caitlin, so I was happy to find some extra’s stashed away.}
My last little surprise was being able to sneak away Sunday evening while my men watched Falling Skies and get some paintings done for our etsy shop.
{All of the paintings are really wet at the moment, but I’m hoping to get them online by the end of the week.}
So, even though we had no official plans this weekend we got to enjoy lots of little surprises/treats throughout the weekend.
We must set up a playdate! My sister also sent Hudson a little present as well for his 6 month birthday. She’s studying at LSE so he got a LSE bib and some Hudson letters that go on a train track. Really cute. The scarf was a little gift for Hudson to give to his momma for delivering him 6 months ago. So sweet!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
That vintage trim is to die for! Almost as cute as little Hudson 😉
looks like we both have sisters in London, except my packages from her usually contain presents for my daughter not me (hmph).
Dervla,

Love the scarf. Love the trim. Love the Hermes box. Can’t wait for the DIY’s!
Looks like a fun weekend!! I have to agree Hudson does look super cute in that hood! 🙂
Those really are the best kind of weekends. I love when there are happy little findings in an unplanned weekend.
