My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
She’s a genius. Follwing her in 3..2…

The kid’s board is genius. Not only it served as a design object but it helped in keeping the child’s scribbles away from the wall and the floor.
after reading this post- I checked out her website, She has a great informative “article” if you click on Ladies Who Launch (which is a great book)- thanks for sharing. I love Pinterest too!!

Wow, these are lovely photos! My favorite is Melissa from The Inspired Room. I love everything she pins! 🙂
Isn’t Ruthie fun to follow?
Great suggestion!
I have mixed feelings about pinterest, too. I am always amazed at how much people can do…how do they find the time?? I am hoping when my youngest goes to school 3 days this fall, I will able to get so much more done! I go in waves of pinning and then doing nothing for weeks. I guess I also feel like I love the idea of boards as an easier, more visual way to keep track of great items you come across, but I worry if I pin too much, it’s like giving design ideas away so it decreases people’s incentive to hire me. I know that sounds selfish goes against the whole vibe of the internet, but since I am just starting out, I feel like I need to be more protective for a while, if that makes sense. I also want clients to know that the pieces I suggest for them are special and specific to them. They are, even if they are something I came across while searching for something else, but I don’t know if seeing it on a pinboard devalues that sourcing?
Sorry, just my pinterest ramblings. I already follow you, but I am Inner Décor if you would like to follow me back (that would be great!). I also have a personal account that I established before I launched my business under Sara Smith.
Great pins! I love that site. I’m surprised at the amount of pins I have, but I recently came across a pinner that had 20,000+ pins and I was just amazed! I just followed you. Here’s me and my twin’s pinterest (designpardeux).
