Sorry for the lack of post on Friday. I simply ran out of hours in the day. A big thank to all of my friends/family/readers that spread the word about my One Kings Lane sale!The sale was a big success and I sold 29 out of 34 of items. Woo hoo! Now I get to spend this week packing up all of the goodies!
This weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding on Fire Island. I have only been to Fire Island once before so I was excited to get to check it out again.
Before our venture out to the wedding I managed to stop by WW to get weighed in. Down another 1.6 lbs!
{I have lost 10% of my weight so I received a key chain. Don’t you love my orange/pink french manicure? All of the girls I ran into loved it. All of the men hated it. }
We had to take the ferry over and Hudson was lucky enough to meet another wedding guest that was more than happy to share some of her snacks with him:
{Her name is Emma and she is 15 months old. I totally approve of her. 🙂 }
Once we got on Fire Island we headed over to the beach where the ceremony was taking place. We had some free time before the ceremony began so we were able to snap some family shots.
{How cute is Hudson? Ah I can’t handle him. I had to get him in that hat if only for a couple of mins. Jon hated the hat, but it was sunny so I won!}
We got a big group shot:
Then a couple shot with my sister and her boyfriend:
My sister Daniela with her date:
The wedding ceremony was lovely and made everyone tear up.
Afterwards we headed to reception where I fell in love with the table settings.
{ The bridesmaids all had eyelet dresses so the table runner was eyelet as well. Instead of main floral arrangement on the table they did a variety of glass jars with different herbs or wildflowers. There were enough jars on the table so that each guest could take one home. If you were able to snag one of the herbs you could plant them in your own garden. Lovely.}
Sunday was spent helping me sister pack. By helping I totally mean delaying the process process because I didn’t want her to go back to London. Back to London she went though last night in order to finish up her thesis. Fingers crossed she’ll be back in December for good!
I can not believe it is the end of August and next week it’s back to life like usual. I’ve been lucky enough to have my mom at home with me day in and out this summer so that I could work a more normal schedule and have a clean house and homemade food and all of those nice things mom do. Well she’s a teacher and the beginning of Sept means I lose my right hand. Thanks for all of the help Mom!
How is the end of your summer wrapping up?
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Sounds like a fun weekend!! Hudson is too cute- I love that little hat!
