Have you met these lovely ladies yet?
{Beautifully illustrated by Inslee}
These ladies are the spirit of all of us design loving fanatics.
They were named in honor of Sara’s (owner of Lulu & Georgia) grandfather and father and today we have the honor of getting a peek into shop owner Sara’s life.

Hi readers of Effortless Style! I’m honored Camila asked me to take part in this fun series. I’m Sara, owner of the newly launched home decor shop, Lulu & Georgia and Vice President of Decorative Carpets, a to-the-trade carpet and rug company in West Hollywood. Here’s a little peek into my day…
6:30am- The moment I open the bedroom door, my pup, Dolly jumps into our John Robshaw covered-bed while I get ready. Heading out the door, I slip on my black ankle booties. Heels have become a signature look – I don’t wear anything under 4 inches! Dolly wishes she could wear a pair, too 🙂
8:00am- Get to work and start catching up on emails. Soaking up the hour of silence before staff and customers flood in.
9:00 am- Breakfast meeting at Cecconi’s with the Executive Board of The Avenues of Art, Fashion, and Design District. Planning our Holiday Guide.
10:00am- Design meeting for our new winter collection. Thinking mustard, tangerine, and navy…
Noon- Grab a quick bite on the way to a designer presentation. If I have time to stop and eat (which is rare), my fave stops are Lemonade, Hedley’s, and Ed’s Coffee Shop.
1:30pm- My assistant, Michaela, came by the office to work on our 12 days of Lulu & Georgia giveaways. Stay tuned!
3:00pm- We head to Sur, a restaurant on Robertson (owned by a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills!) to scope it out for a possible office holiday party. We LOVED it!
6:00pm- Evening walk with Dolly!
7:00pm-8:00pm- Hurrying to get everything done before the end of the day. Work never seems to end, but I’m off to dinner at 8pm with a friend at Sotto.
10:00pm- Watching the sneak peek of the new Downton Abbey season with my boyfriend. We can’t wait to see Mary and Matthew get married 🙂
Thanks so much for having me by your beautiful blog today, Camila!

Here are some of my favorite picks:
My picks:
Mariposa Pillow for $65! Unbelievable price point!
Evelyn Orb Lamp for $322.50(Sort of obsessed with this pick. I could put it in every room in my house and it would look fab.)
Florence throw for only $35! Available in a great selection of colors.
Faye Chair for $877.80.Love the contrast of the dark frame with the light upholstery.
Mae mirror for $179.90Mae has always been on my short list of girls name so this mirror had me at hello.
Oxford storage ottoman in tangerine for $259.90. This little number would fit right at home in Hudson’s nursery.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Love peeking in to Sarah’s day! She wears so many different hats. Love that she’s a heel girl like me. 😉
Sara really is great! I love working with her 🙂 She’s serious about her heels, too! I told her I can’t wear heels like that everyday and she said, “It’s because you give yourself the option of flats– they know the difference!” Adorable. Fun to help Sara put this together…it’s such a joy to work for L&G. Thanks for the feature, Camila! xoxo
Thanks for sharing cure photos of Dolly, great shoes, and fabulous home design items!
