Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. Here in the Northeast we were hit with blizzard 2013! On Friday the snow started to fall and by the evening we had a good amount on the ground.
Come Saturday morning and it was blinding to go outside with all of that snow!
It was too horrible in my area, but some towns on Long Island lost power and got around 30″. The roads were still pretty messy so we decided to try and lay low for the weekend and have fun indoors.
We tried to paint with Hudson. Didn’t go so hot…
I was smart enough to take him out of his clothes so the paint wouldn’t get everywhere, but that’s about were the smarts ended. All he wanted to do was eat the paintbrush with paint and all I wanted to do was have him not eat the paintbrush so let’s just say we had words and both of us ended up upset. Poor guy looked like a rocker from the 80’s with a face full paint that looked like make up. Next time we shall paint with pudding!
Before the tears and what inspired the painting session with Hudson was that I was painting a special birthday gift for a friend.
Helped my sister run some birthday errands of her own. We were celebrating her boyfriend/our good friend/Hudson’s godfathers birthday that evening. Let’s just say Jon and I had fun playing matchmaker! Here is one of the pieces we picked up:
{More details to come…}
We also picked up supplies to make our own ice cream cake. I had never made one before, but it was so easy and fast to do. We ended up with a yummy caramel creation that looked like this all finished:
By Sunday the cake already looked like this:
On Sunday the roads were better, but little Hudson was fighting a cold so we did lots of playing at home.
Even though he was under the weather Hudson still managed helping his momma clean up her office:
That sweet act was followed with Hudson driving his ATV through the living room.
So, did you have any cars zip past your living room? Did you get snowed in? Hit up an fashion shows during fashion week here in NY? My twitter and instagram feeds were filled with fashion week events.
I absolutely love that your house looks cluttered with beautiful lamps and fabrics, looks exactly like mine right now! My kinda clutter 😀
Hudson is such a cutie, he looks to be same age as my son! 18 months? I have tried to paint and color, and each time ended the same way…I want to try the whole water colors in the bathtub thing for him! Seems like it would keep the mess in check 🙂
Thanks Raiana! Hudson is only 14 months old! He is a bit tall for his age. If you like fabric and lamps you should see the rest of the house. I have goods stored everywhere. I need a shop!
LOVE the chair in the last pic of the Living Room track…lol. Is that something you did yourself? I soooo want to start thrift shop/ yard saleing so I can do some of my own creations!
What a little cutie! I have pictures of both of my kids looking like that except they had used markers to “color” themselves. 🙂 We got lots of snow but it’s all gone now. Have a great week!
Hudson is getting so big! Here in Florida it was quite the opposite.. tanning, beach, and we even needed air conditioning. I would rather be in the cold if that meant I could go to fashion week!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
