Hope you guys enjoyed getting a peek into the process of I curated my sale. As promised here is another style plan showing how I would use some of the items in a living room set up!
No.1: I wasn’t exactly sure where this canvas would end up in my pretend living room, but I loved all of the colors and decided to use it as a jumping off point. Sometimes my inspiration for a room helps with a color story, but never actually ends up in the space.
No.2: I love using mirrors in design. They make such an impact in the space. They help reflex light, the make a room seem larger, and they provide a function. I love the idea of going bold with these mirrors and making a large grid of them above a sofa.
No.3: Every living room needs storage for either a TV, DVD’s, books, blankets, etc. I love that this piece has doors so you can shut them and not have to deal with the mess. I would flank it with some glamorous sconces that pick up the metal in the hardware.
No.4: An orange sofa?Be still my heart. It’s a perfect orange for a living room. Not too loud and not to pastel. Plus like at that exposed wooden frame and it’s a sleeper! Love! Like always I would toss the pillows it came with and pick up some polka dot, trellis, and chevronnumbers.
No. 6: I adore a patterned rug so this time I would make my dots go super sized with this rug and have some additional seating options with these striped ottomans. Leave them the sofa as a foot stool or have them flank the storage cabinet.
No. 7: Lastly while it isn’t necessary in every room when you want your room to have multi-functions like perhaps a guest room a day bed is a nice alternative to a sleeper sofa. This day bed is so chic with it’s color and detailing and at a great price point. Only $424.95!
So, what do you think? Can you live in this living room? I think I could very happily.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I like the repetitive circular pattern – rug, chest & daybed. Nice mood board.
