Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a pretty low key weekend. Jon’s grandpa hasn’t been doing too great and things don’t seem to be getting better so we all sort of went through the motions this weekend with our minds mainly on him. Not much in terms of exciting weekend recap pictures, but we did manage to squeeze in some things.
Towards the end of the week we picked up a tent for Hudson at Ikea and he has been in heaven. He spent all weekend running in and out of it. So cute! The dogs like it too.
I also tired to do a little crocheting, but Hudson turned into a cat and went nuts on all of my yarn.
We had some nice weather so we also got a bunch of spraypainting done.
Just a peek at our spraypainting stash:
My favorite sconces from Ballard went high gloss navy:
Plus a final touch on these gold chairs that are light light lilac velvet cushions!
If you follow me on instagram you will already know that I’m trying to sneak a couple of updates to Jon’s Man Den. I already picked out some new artwork and I’m toying with using some Les Touches for accent pillows.
Due to my over flowing fabric closet my in laws also got some new Gaston Y Danielapillows for their family room. The bird print looks great with the ikat pillows we gifted them for Christmas.
I also took advantage of a 50% off photo printing sale at Walgreens and ordered a bunch of photos for a gallery wall I’m working on. I spent hours on Saturday trying to find pictures of our little family of 3. Crazy, but I could only find like 5 of them! They are either all of Hudson or Jon with Hudson or me and Hudson. Must get better at talking family shots.
On Sunday we took a little break from everything and went out to the pond:
Had some lunch:
Plus we played at the park!
I guess we managed to squeeze in more than I thought. I even blogged on Saturday about adding some cheery touches to a child’s bathroom inspired by Orla Kiely.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I looove the navy on those sconces. I am now inspired to paint an armoire that same color. Very pretty! Prayers for your hubby’s grandfather.
I did some navy spray painting too. Glad the weather is finally turning so outdoor projects can begin!
Quick question… where do you get your pillow inserts?
I always pick mine up at Crate and Barrel. Great prices and they are always in stock.
I love the tent! And everything is better with gold spray paint!

Great weekend!
