Ah why do weekends come and go so quickly. We managed to do a mix of fun and work this weekend.
On Saturday we went to Planting Fields Arboretum for Arbor Day!
{Such a beautiful and sunny day!}
They had a day full of activities and the first spot we hit was the petting zoo:
We also go to enjoy some live music on their main lawn:
Hudson decided that grass called for crawling not walking:
He also made a little friend:
{He is fascinated by other kids. It’s so sweet. Makes me want to give him lots of siblings, but also terrified about that. I can barely handle him, work, life as is at the moment.}
We ate some ice cream. I made the mistake of only picking up two bars (one for Jon and one for me) thinking that Hudson could just share with us. Nope! Hudson didn’t like that one bit. He grabbed my bar and wouldn’t let go. So momma had to go and pick up another ice cream bar that he also proceeded to eat from.
We did lots of exploring:
{It must have a very popular wedding date because the park was full of brides and grooms taking photos.}
In our exploring we found a man doing caricatures and got one for Hudson:
{I don’t think it really reassembles him except for his stylish hair and oh so cute ears, but he loves it.}
Overall we had a blast! On the way home we popped over to Lowesto pick up some supplies and I was so excited to wander into their gardening section and saw massive pom pom topiaries:
{ I couldn’t find a price in the store, but online it looks like they range from $35-$45, which is a steal!}
On Sunday we painted our nightstands:
Moved all of the furniture stash I had in my office to the new shed:
Cleaned up the vintage chairs we got during the week:
{ I posted a before picture of the set of 6 we got on instagram and everyone went nuts for them.}
We then went out to lunch to celebrate Hudson’s Aunt JoJo’s birthday! Happy Birthday Aunt JoJo!
On our way back home Jon made a quick U-turn when he saw a powerwheels curb side:
{Apparently a lever was broken, but Jon fixed it in seconds and they were cruising around the backyard in no time!}
While the men played outside I worked on some new paintings for the shop:
Plus since my office was finally cleaned up I started putting everything back together and did a bunch of cleaning and then zhushed it up a bit by grabbing some pillows from storage and putting them out on display.
Whew! I’m tired just thinking about everything we did. What were you up to this weekend?
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
ugghh you guys have the most productive weekends! I am also reeeaally obsessed with those leather chairs
We always plan to rest, but then the projects are just screaming our names so off the couch we go. Don’t worry I manage to sneak in a lifetime movie or two. 🙂
Damn! It’s amazing what you guys accomplish in one weekend! I love that painting!
You were a busy bee. Jane is 17 months and at the no-sharing of treats phase as well! She takes after her momma on that.
Those chairs are amazing!!!
He shares with little kids in his class, but not with his momma! Today he grabbed a weight watchers mint patti out of my mouth. Silly boy!
oh wow mini Jon is really growing up so fast and the new friend belongs blown up and on a wall someplace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know so cute! He kept feeding his little friend goldfish too.
Those leather chairs!! Are they for a project, yourself or are you preparing to sell them? They are gorgeous. Love your pillows, too.
Amazing, right! I don’t think for myself or a client so they are getting sold. They were just too good to leave behind.
