For the next 4 months I’m going to be co-hosting a wonderful style series on the blog. A couple of weeks ago Heather from Southern State of Mind reached out to me with her brilliant idea and asked if I wanted to co-host.
Heather came up with the idea to feature a different style icon each month and showcase projects whether they be fashion inspired or DIY home projects that reflect the style icon and their lifestyle. Since there are numerous hosts we will each be reaching out to our audiences and asking them to join along on the fun and link in with their projects inspired by the style icon. We are hoping lots join the links party so that we have a great source of inspiration for future projects we want to tackle.
If you want to join in on the fun you have two weeks to get ready for our first style icon, which is none other than Kate Spade.
I’m going to be working on some new projects to were inspired by Kate Spade, but you can easily link to projects you have already completed that exude Kate Spade.
Fun, right? I’m sure if you look around your house/wardrobe you can find projects that were inspired by Kate Spade. Think polka dots, stripes and colorful!
Here is the line up for the summer and an introduction to my other co-hosts!

ON THE BLOG
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
