Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We had a garage sale scheduled for this weekend so Friday was spent finishing up prep work. We were all set to wake up around 7am and get the drive way set up, but Mr. Hudson had other plans and woke up at 5 am sick as a dog. He was in good spirits, but I have never changed so many diapers in a day and washed so many outfits and bedding.
The garage sale did go on and I had fun styling things in the drive way:
Hudson did make some appearances outside and had fun playing shop:
It was an exhausting day with crazy heat and humidity and having to deal with people haggling with me over $1 items plus a sick baby. I was wiped by the end of it. Thank goodness for helpful family members that helped us run the sale.
We woke up thinking Sunday would be a better day for Hudson, but he felt even worse than Saturday. Our normally happy and active baby was super sleepy and all about laying day on Sunday.
{Bubble Guppies make everything better!}
We had some excitement in the morning with a group of 5 ladies showing up in our lawn and grabbing leftovers from the sale. We were okay with people grabbing things from our curb side trash, but having people up on property opening and sorting bags and then leaving a mess and breaking things was a whole other thing. We didn’t want to have to watch the yard all day so Jon had to get creative and make a big old sign!
{Classy, right? Please remind me about this picture the next time I get the great idea that I want to have a garage sale.}
I had some work to do on Sunday so while Hudson was cuddling with Daddy I got dressed up for a little photo shoot!
Then I headed out with my sister and her boyfriend to do a little shopping for their apt. It was very funny to open the door and see my sister also decked out in black and white stripes, bold pink lipstick and a cobalt blue bag. Can you tell we are sisters?
I finished up the day admiring my pretty hydrangeas while I took Hudson out for a little fresh air.
We also had the best intentions to add new new hardwareto my new nightstands and bring them up to the bedroom, but cuddles with Hudson were more important so they will have to wait.
Hopefully this Monday morning will bring a baby that is on the mend.
too look so good after being all that sick. Did he have a touch of food poisoning or does he have food allergies ??? Sorry the timing of this was so hard on your little family. What is your opinion of yard/garage sales? do you have a good location for them. how much advertising do you usually do and how far in advance???
smh at the people coming the day after the sale. when we (my entire fam) put stuff at my parent’s house to sell, it was so much work but so fun. By me styling things (ex: the dining room set and outfits on cardboard silhouettes) things sold much faster. But one of the days a woman drove by and started shopping before we were open. we had signs that specifically told the hours. Start at 9. yet it was 7 something when she came as we were setting up. I wanted to say something so bad but she end up buying so much that I let it go. lol

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Poor baby. Hope Hudson is feeling better!
Totally love the pillows!
