Hope you all had a great weekend. We actually went away last week to visit some family in Colombia and then headed for a little fun in the sun in Cartagena!
We started our trip in Bogota and were surprised to be met with really sunny weather. My favorite part of the city is the historic section, which is where we started our sightseeing.
Love seeing all of the old buildings throughout the center:
Yummy treats are one of my favorite things about Bogota and one of my first stops was at this street vendors stand:
More drool worthy treats from the candy shops that seem to pop up every couple of shops:
Hudson had a blast in one of the main plaza’s where you could buy corn and feed the pigeons. I was a little grossed out about it, but he was in heaven.
He also got to sit on a lama:
We also took a trip to a different area of the city that had a great vibe to it. It seemed like a mini Brooklyn Flea with the streets lined with stands full of handcrafted items, homemade ice cream, and music.
This new area is full of hipsters and this chic van that was turned into a florist shop was a big hit with everyone.
Hudson of course found puppies everywhere. This little guy was sale and so tempting. What a cute face!
After a couple of days in Bogota we headed out to Cartagena. Cartagena is a city of the northern coast of Colombia where we decided to stay at Las Americasand enjoy the pool and beach.
We did lots of swinging:
Sliding:
Swimming:
Bouncing:
Smooching:
Plus a little crying when things didn’t go our way:
Cartagena is also full of different areas like the historic area that is full of beautiful architecture and amazing color palettes.
More pigeons for Hudson:
Plus a couple of family shots:
Fun was had by all and now we are back in New York with snow on the ground!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
