This weekend we got a tiny reprieve from the cold weather on Saturday and it was only 57 degrees out instead of the usual 30 degrees or below. So, we decided to head out for a car ride and surprise Jon’s parent who were spending the weekend out east.
We met up with them at a vineyard where Hudson had a blast with the vineyard dog.
They had the prettiest french inspired tasting room full of nice sunny seating arrangements.
After some vineyards we went back to Jon’s Aunt & Uncle’s house and Hudson got to run around their backyard, check out the water and play with a kite he had been itching to open.
It was a long full day and we were happy to be back home in the evening to get some rest.
On Sunday we headed out early to run errands and popped into Home Depot where Hudson had the first of many breakdowns for the day. You see Home Depot is full of ladders everywhere for employee use only. Try telling a 2 year old that he isn’t an employee and he can’t go on them.
{Here is Hudson ignoring me for the millionth time when I told him to get down.}
Tears, tears, and more tears were had every time he ran towards a new ladder. Not fun!
We were there to look at deck stains, but due to breakdowns we were only able to grab some swatches.
I also found some cool vintage inspired lightbulbs:
Plus massive rolls of metallic silver tape that made me want to give this DIYproject another go. Ah the things I could do with rolls and rolls of this tape. No walls would be safe. 🙂
After morning errands Hudson and I went down for a nap. This momma needed some shut eye and then in the afternoon we headed out to Hudson’s favorite lunch spot. Of course instead of the yummy meal we got him he decided that goldfish would be better.
We ran a quick errand to Bed Bath and Beyond and were extremely happy to see that there was a whole World Marketfood section in the store. BBB bought Cost Plus Market in 2012 and I’m super excited and have fingers crossed this pop up section in the store means that hopefully sooner than later I’ll be able to walk into a World Marketsomewhere near me!
Our evening was spent at home watching a new movie with Hudson and then relaxing by the fireplace. Ah the perfect evening to a hectic day. Best part was Hudson trying to learn how to say the word FIRE. Let’s just say for some reason it came out like a bad word that beginnings with an F. Jon and I both died laughing.
Happy Monday all!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
