Sideboard turned into Dresser
Since we only have two bedrooms I didn’t have a chance to decorate a new nursery for Asher. He is currently rooming with Jon and I and eventually he will be Hudson’s roommate.
I didn’t have to make any huge changes in Hudson’s current room for Asher’s arrival, but I did have to tweak a couple of items. Storage has always been an issue in Hudson’s room, because all of Jon’s folded clothes goes in Hudson’s built ins. (The dresser in our bedroom is full of my clothes 🙂 ) With the addition of Asher’s little clothes I needed to get creative, which meant Hudson’s sideboard needed to get switched up.
Here is the sideboard that I picked up at a thrift store and actually turned out to be a John Stuart designer piece. It got a bright dose of high gloss of citron paint and worked perfectly in the space.
Inside it held a couple of extra toys that hadn’t been opened yet and books, but it was never really utilized.
A quick trip to HomeGoods and I had the perfect amount of storage bins to house all of Asher’s clothes. The bins help keep all of the clothes neat and I’m now able to sort everything by size and by type.

I even used cute gift tags that I picked up at the dollar tree and marked all of my bins.
Over the weekend I got to put everything in it’s new home. Felt so good to put all of the piles and piles of clothes I had floating around my bedroom.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
i love all the color! could you tell me what the stuffed animals are hanging on? my daughter has a stuffed animal obsession and they are always all over the floor, you have such a clever way of keeping them neat! thanks so much, I enjoy your blog every day 🙂
