Hi All,
Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday. We had lots of fun, but I’m super exhausted. Being Santa and shopping/wrapping gifts can be tiring, but putting your house back together after Christmas is overwhelming. Empty boxes everywhere along with little pieces from toys sprinkled all over the house equal lots of Ah’s from this momma. I have been in full on cleaning mode since the 26th. I’ve already been searching Ikea trying to find the perfect storage solution for all of the boys new toys. Hoping to have everything in tip top shape before the new year. We shall see how it goes.
Here are a couple of pics from the last couple of days:
The only family shot we managed to take on Christmas didn’t even have the whole family! Sadly Hudson isn’t in it, because he is still hating photos so it’s impossible to get him in a photo.
I wasn’t sure if the boys would really get Christmas, but they each got excited in their own way. This was the first year Hudson mentioned Santa and I tried explaining Baby Jesus, but I’m not sure what he actually understood from our conversation. He loved the idea of new toys, but could only really concentrate on one gift. He would immediately want to play with whatever he opened and didn’t care about opening anything else. I figured Asher wouldn’t be excited at all, but he loved opening presents and playing with new toys.
This weekend included lots of playtime. Everything needed to be tested and Asher loved every second of it.
My new love for matching pj’s continued with the boys getting a couple of new ones for Christmas. Obsessed!
Another little bit of excitement this weekend was that Asher discovered Oreo’s and fell in love. Yum!
Our weekend wasn’t just all about toys, because we needed to do a bit of work as well and spent time wrapping up a bathroom revamp. Here is a sneak peek:
I also spent a good chunk of the weekend staining our grout orange! I love it!
We also received a new headboard that I will be using in my sister’s new apt! Can’t wait for that reveal!
Of course, no after Christmas weekend is complete without some shopping deals. I did most of it online and picked up a bunch of clothes for us, but also found some great home finds at Target. My favorites included this campaign style nightstand for $47, green trellis style counter stools for $54, on trend black cheetah pillow for $10, upholstered x-stool for $36, Nate Berkus Faux Fur Zig Zag throw for $24, and a High gloss bookcase for $98 to name a few!
Let’s hope this week goes quickly. We were lucky enough to have Jon home this past week and it has been delightful. So sad that he has to go back to work today!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Um…orange grout? I can’t wait to see more!
