My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Hang in there! I agree that 2s are cake and 3s are when the trouble starts! I think the best cure for rivalry is one on one time and lots of hugs.
Just remember parenting consists of phases. Hudson may be difficult for awhile, and then all of a sudden, he’ll be back to being agreeable & loving. At least that was my experience. Just try to be as patient as possible (so hard) and keep in the back of your head, “this too shall pass.” And brace yourself for the long preschool journey, I thought four was the hardest year ever.
The 3’s are definitely harder…I found giving them a “choice” between two things (i.e. play with playdoh or read a book) sometimes helps them feel like they are in control which I think helps with the jealousy a bit. Good luck:)
Three was worse that 2 and 4 was MISERABLE. I hate 4 year olds. Five was slightly better and 6 and 7 have been good. Hang in there! Don’t give in!
I agree 2s were a breeze…… 3s were tougher.
