When I was planning my Easter tablescape I knew I wanted to use some mini terra cotta I picked up at Dollar Tree. I knew I wanted to use them, but wasn’t sure with what. Then it hit me! CUPCAKES!
This was a super easy project. Here is what you will need to make them yourself:
Step 1: Now you can bake the cupcakes directly into the terra cotta pots, but you need to bake the pots separately before hand for 30 mins and then let them cool for 30 mins and then go back in the oven again. Ugh. Who has time for that? I simply placed my foil cupcake liners directly into the pots and filled them three fourths of the way up. I left them in the pots and baked them per the boxed mix directions.
*Make sure you use foil. They are a bit stiffer and help keep the liner once you pour the mixture in. I did some with paper and they came out horribly. *
Step 2: Once your cupcakes are cool it’s time to get to work. Cut your straw to size and place in the center of the cupcake.
Step 3: Cut your flower to size.
Tip: You may need to trim some of the width of the stem in order to slide it into the straw easily.
Step 4: Then frost away! I love using a frosting knife for a nicer finish, but use what you have at home.
So pretty and just as yummy!
Enjoy! Super easy to do and Hudson loved helping me out during the whole process.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
