Another jam packed weekend has come and gone way too quickly! Here is what we were up to.
No matter how hard I tried Hudson is still stuck on this big boy bed. So, after many nights of him asking when he was going to get his cool new bed we ventured off to Ikea to pick one up!
Ash had to test out all of the beds…
Look at the deal they had on stuffed Pandas! I found one I wanted to take home.
So did Ash…
We also went to Home Depot to pick up some paint for the bed. The boys were not too happy with these talking Halloween decorations.
Hudson got to pick out some Optimus Prime blue for his bed.
Along with all of the big boy bed activity going on I also worked on a freelance piece for one of my favorite magazines! I shot everything on Saturday! Hopefully they like it!!!
On Sunday we went to Long Island City to check out some more venues for my sister’s wedding.
It was hot, hot, hot, but we still had fun.
We checked out 3 venues and none of them were the one, but the best was Paper Factory Hotel. The Paper Factory Hotel is a restored paper factory (duh) that has been turned into a hotel with many event spaces for holding a wedding. It’s full of steampunk detailing and there are so many great photo ops throughout. Sadly their main room for the reception was too small!
The cutest chess player you ever did see.
Overall a lovely weekend that ended with some sweet brotherly love.
Here’s to a good short week! Final farewell to summer here we come!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
