Favorite Grosgrain Ribbon Source
One of my number one tips is always grosgrain ribbon! I just love it! It comes in a million colors and is relatively inexpensive. It will help take any plain jane pillow or curtain panel and make it go from blah to wow. I constantly get asked where I picked curtains trimmed in ribbon because people assume they are not a DIY project since they look so professionally done.

Of course not all grosgrain are made the same and everyone has a favorite source. My absolute favorite grosgrain ribbon is Schiff Ribbons. They are available in an amazing variety of colors, there widths start at 1/8″ and go all the way up to 3″, most of their ribbons are machine washable, dry cleanable and wrinkle free!
My favorite is always a 3″ band on curtain panels. I have used them time and time again. They never disappoint. It’s always hard to find 3″ wide at craft stores so it’s great to go online and order some and know exactly what I’m going to get. Also they are a nice thickness which is important, because typically I’m using a glue gun to attack these babies to my favorite items and they don’t leave any marks. With other brands I have used you can actually see where every glue dot is!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
This is such a good idea! Do you do anything special to the ribbon before you attach it to the curtain? A glue gun works?
Yup, just a standard glue gun. I used to do hem tape, but that would take forever. The glue gun works perfectly!

Hi! I love the look of these. Do you have a go to for inexpensive white curtains? I’ve been thinking of doing something similar and heard ikea panels work well but I’d love to hear another opinion! Thanks!
I’m a fan of the Ikea ritva, but I also really like the Savannah panels from JCP.
