Another weekend that has come and gone way too quickly. Totally having a case of the Monday’s today so let’s pretend it’s the weekend and take a peek at what we tackled.
We ventured off to Christmas Tree Shops.I needed some artwork for the school renovation and I figured I would get the most bang for my buck there.
There were lots of cute finds like:
-X bookcase/shelving unit that was on clearance for $59!
-Chic blue bench with sides for $149!
-An array of cute and on trend mirrors. Mostly in the $19-$24 range.
-Mini side table with bamboo legs for $24.
-Reclaimed wood style floating artwork frames for $10. They had a bunch of different options. I picked up two animal ones for the school project.
-I came home with a little something for myself too. New Greek key doormat for $6.99!
Our afternoon to evening was spent at the school working on hanging lots of artwork, assembling chairs and organizing toys. We had to bring the boys with us and it was an experience. They were very well behaved but it was a super long day for everyone.
Here is a little peek of the new space:
Love the new chairs we ordered. Don’t love that we ordered 30 and we had to assemble all of them!
Minted was generous enough to donate a large piece from their photography collection. I love the whimsey of this piece.
We also installed some massive wall decals that Megan from The Lovely Wall generously donated. Seriously, she is the sweetest and was super eager to help me out. We got a million compliments on them as we did the installation.
I can’t wait to share more photos and professional ones at that. Not these iphone photos I took at night before leaving. The new space looks beautiful! Not only did we update the look of the space, but we also added new teachers and classes so our programming has been updated as well. If you live on the North Shore of Long Island and have little ones make sure to check out The Parent Resource Center. You will be sure to see me wandering the hallways. 🙂
On Sunday we met up with friends and had brunch at Diane’s.It’s my all time favorite cafe on the island. We like to go every Sunday, but lately we have been so busy that it hasn’t happened.
After that we drove on to the beach and did some fishing with the boys!
Hudson caught his first fish!
It was heaven. Jon loved seeing the boys so excited about fishing. Asher even helped Jon reel in some fish and this momma caught a fish as well!
Pure bliss and much needed fun after a busy Saturday.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
