We had a lovely Fall weekend. Of course I also had a lot of work to jam into it. On Saturday we got up bright and early to pick up some supplies. You see I ordered reclaimed wood signs for all of the classrooms in the school renovation and when I picked them up they were totally disappointing. So, I got to re-do them all this past weekend.
I was on the search for transfer paper and was pleasantly surprised by these massive letters at ACMOORE. I have ordered these online in the past, but so nice to know they are available for pick up near by.
They didn’t have transfer paper so then I ended up at Michaels. Where this looney tune decided to take in some light reading while I browsed.
They didn’t have transfer paper either, but I did manage to find massive rolls of patterned masking tape. So cute!
I then ended up at Blicks and they finally had the transfer paper.
We got home and I got to work on fixing those boards:
The boys got in a little exercised. They are obsessed with racing! Don’t they look adorable in their matching outfits? I swore to myself I would never do that. Then I did it with PJ’s and swore that I would only do it with that. Then I found these in the right sizes and bam I’m at crazy! They look like the sons from The Royal Tenebaums, but the cute over weighs the crazy so I did it!
We spent the rest of the day at home working on the signs and having some fun with our Aunt Jenn who came to visit us for the day. I even got to sneak out for a little and go shopping! Without kids!!!!
On Sunday went canoeing! We haven’t done it a while and it was just the perfect day for it.
Here we are waiting for our turn at the dock:
Ah the one that got away. Years ago we saw this house for sale. It was a mess, but we totally saw the potential with it. We loved it, but it was over our budget and further out on the island, which I didn’t love. Looks like someone bought it and renovated it. It looks amazing and we were totally jealous.
It was a really fun day. Someone may or may not have fallen in the water when we were only about 100 ft away from the dock. But there are no photos of that so we will pretend it didn’t happen. Thank goodness for life jackets and spare outfits.
The rest of our day was spent back at home working on the signs and like this:
Apparently Asher enjoys a good accessory. He is always wearing my glasses and when he found this spiderman helmet that was it. Didn’t take it off all afternoon.
Jon always wows me with everything he can do with the boys. I try and do something when it’s just me and the boys and I literally can’t. No way I can work on a project and just have them be part of it. Jon always makes it work. He wanted to work on the little sailboat he uses with Hudson and bam he made it work.
Sitting like angels!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
