H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N ! What fun to have Halloween fall on a Saturday!
I took advantage of having a low key Saturday morning and got to work dressing up our front door. I had bought white crepe paper and a pair of scary eyes weeks ago and hadn’t had a free moment to install it.
It only took about 10 mins to do and made quite an impact!
So cute and only $2 of supplies from the local dollar store!
After a slow morning at home we got all dressed up! How cute is my Optimus Prime and Dragon? Asher really got in character and kept roaring!
Asher passed out before we even got to the first house!
We went out with Hudson first and then meet up with Asher once he woke up from his nap. The boys had a blast and hit up both grandparents houses and their neighbors.
I’m not going to lie, but the rest of the day was spent on a sugar high! I have since hidden everything else.
On Sunday we were off to take our yearly family photos! It’s pretty amazing when your best friend is a brilliant photographer who adores your family as much as you. Liz, thanks so much for capturing our family in this beautiful setting.
We went to Massapequa Preserve this year and it was beautiful! The fall foliage is so colorful and such a pretty backdrop for photos.
Asher may or may not have walked into the lake and gotten his shoes and part of his pants soaked. Ah! Talk about stress!
Along with having photos of my little crew we were also able to get photos of my family as well. So Grandma and Pop-Pop, my two sisters and my sister’s fiance were along for the ride! Don’t worry we are also going to do another shoot with Jon’s family, but the timing didn’t work out for it to happen the same day.
Liz told me that navy, burgundy and greens were looking really pretty in photos so, I got to work and styled everyone that morning.
Completely jealous of my sister’s sparkly top!
Obsessed with my mom’s outfit. She had on the cutest top and amazing jewels!
Can’t wait to get the photos to show you all, but for now here is a little teaser that Liz sent me last night. She is so fast!
I honestly have no clue how she got this shot. Hudson kept turning around to look at the water around us and Asher didn’t want to be held so he kept wriggling free and walking away. I was yelling at both of them to stay put. Thank god it was photos not video. 🙂
I finished up the day playing around with some fabric schemes for a client:
Plus I got to read some design magazines the same week they arrived! What? Total bliss.
I went to bed on the early side, because turning back the clocks meant we had been up and going since 6am and this momma was wiped.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
