Hi All,
This last weekend before the reality of a normal week was a jam packed one! What we should have done was stayed home and cleaned up the house, done laundry and put all of the Christmas decor away, but instead we took the boys to Legoland Discovery Center in Westchester!
Responsible? Maybe not, because now I get to do all of that this work week, but we wanted to get out of the house and Hudson had been asking to go so we decided why not let’s be fun and just go!
Cool NYC scenes made out of Legos:
Hudson ran right in and went straight into a jungle gym of sorts and we are on our own with Ash for a bit while he played in there.
We were there for a while and then went out into the shopping center in that area that was actually super pretty with lots of shops and restaurants and a massive fountain where Hudson asked for coins and made wishes for all of us. It was so sweet.
After all that fun we headed home to get ready for dinner. I hadn’t seen my sisters for the new year so, I set a fancy table and made some yummy chili.
I ordered a new table runner from Furbishand I’m obsessed with it. Aren’t the colors amazing? Plus the best part are these amazing tassels!
Swoon. It’s no longer available, but these beauties are!
Asher trying to feed himself dinner.
We ended the evening with yummy cookies from Levain Bakery. If you are ever in NY it’s a must. We also busted a move or two with Just Dance. Such a fun game and even Asher gets into it.
On Sunday we had a day of house hunting! We have been looking for a new house for a while now, but have yet to find the one! We hit the road on Sunday to view 6 homes!
We started off at a house with water views!
We liked it from the outside and loved how close to the beach it was. But it was a bit further out then we wanted to be and really felt like a beach house. So a great investment property/vacation home, but not our forever house.
House 2 had pretty curb appeal, but a weird first floor layout, tiny kitchen and no backyard!
House 3: This house was super cute. We loved the outside and inside it seemed like a good fit our family. Would I have loved an extra bedroom and bigger backyard? Totally, but it felt like it could be home so we liked it.
House 4: This house was on the perfect street in the perfect part of town so those were wins. It also had an insane backyard and super cool 3 season room in the back of the house. All wins. That was it though the rest of the house was pretty bad and it would be a complete fixer upper/overall.
House 5: Winner, winner! Ok so this house is a Victorian style house, which was never on our wish list, but it has really pretty curb appeal and on the inside it has everything we would need. We shall see if it’s meant to be, but we really loved it.
House 6 was in a not so great part of town. So, while we liked it and it was a lot of house it almost seemed like too big of a house and since it wasn’t in a great part of town it needed to be cut.
Whew! What an exhausting day! I will make sure to keep you guys up to date on the hunt. Fingers crossed on House 5.
Happy Monday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
So exciting! I just spent the first stay in my new home (we are retiring in April and moving there permanently then) and my head is filled with decorating ideas!
Good luck and fingers crossed!
So exciting!! I hope all works out for you with the house! It’s a beauty. I keep thinking about your mall story. I’m so happy all are safe and sound. What a scary experience!
