It felt like Spring this weekend in NY and we were busy little bees!
We started our Saturday by hitting what felt like a million one and thrift shops looking for props. The parenting coop where the boys take classes and I’m a board member is hosting a gala in March and I’m in charge of decor!
Luckily the boys love treasure hunting and were kept busy with all of the toys.
I ended finding lots of great glassware and vases and they each found a treasure that they needed to have!
Since the boys fell asleep after thrifting we decided to check out a house we think may be the one. We went back and drove around and fell in love again that literally right down the road you can see water. What a great feeling. We even ended up finding the current owner outside and talked to them a while about schools, etc.
In the afternoon I had to do some work and photograph some items for my OKL shop and then since my parents were over Jon and I ran out to do some errands without kids!
Found these cute garden stools at Big Lots! They ranged from $25-$35.
Then I ran into Old Navy and spied these cute picks:
Textured striped shirt with cute buttons on the back:
I even had to pick up a new top for myself. I wore it on Sunday and got loads of compliments!
Spent the night snuggling with my first born. Ah he is just so handsome and sweet! He kept telling me I was his Valentine and giving me kisses.
{I have gone snapchat crazy. This pic is from my story that day. Snapchat: camilapavone}
On Sunday we hit some more thrift stores. We went to one that was having a $2 sale and it was madness!!!! There was barely walking room in the store and the line wrapped around the entire thing. Crazy! Will never do that again.
That was a bust. So, I went into an antique shop called, Funk & Swaggert hat was new to me.
The shop was full of cool looking steampunk robots and animals.
We then continued the hunt for a new house! We still have a house in mind that we think might be the “one”, but we have some reservations with the school district so we don’t feel comfortable pulling the trigger until we learn more. So, we drove by and checked out 5 more houses and just like goldie locks none of them were right for one reason or another.
Our afternoon was spent at a birthday party! Both boys had a blast and while I was hoping it would mean a long afternoon nap we got nothing!
Hudson loves friends. So cute.
We did manage to get them in bed on the early side which was amazing and I got to enjoy a little bit of the Oscars.
See, I told you it was jam packed. 🙂
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
