Last week I was lucky enough to take a client to one of my favorite showrooms, The New Traditionalists.
They are a furniture company that are all about high quality items, hand made in the USA and are happy to help you customize anything and everything. They believe that traditional can be cool and I must agree with them.
Take a peek at their beautiful showroom in the NYDC.
My favorite part about their pieces is all of the detail work they do. Having those pops of color inside of piece is an amazing detail.
They also have a fully stocked bar in the showroom so you can cheers to your new furniture purchase!
Swoon! Look at that orange beauty!
So many options!
They literally have something for everyone. So many fabric options!
They also had drawers upon drawers full of wood finishes. I totally want to meet the fun people that decided to go with any of the options in this bold drawer.
This beauty stopped me in my tracks. It’s a china cabinet in wood with a plum colored stain. It is one of the prettiest things I have ever seen.
Then I opened a drawer and even more amazing was the lilac drawers!!!!!!
They had amazing reclaimed walls in the showroom that my client loved and we learned that they were actually peel and stick panels from Stikwood.Very cool!
So much pretty eye candy.
We even made some pretty bold design choices for my clients dining room.
I meant to say chiang mai in my original comment, but I said ming because I am using robert allen’s ming dragon in my house and I really like it. It has a variety of colors and it has grey, beige, and white in it so it is very versatile. its a budget friendly option.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Is that Ming dragon or a look-alike?
It’s Chiang Mai dragon in the mocha colorway from Schumacher.
You slay me. When I win the lottery I’m buying that fabric 🙂
I know! I got to order 23 yards for my client!!!! Can’t wait to see it come in.
