Hi Everyone,
Today I’m hosting my first ever blog hop! I have been blogging since 2008 and while I have been part of some in the past I have never actually hosted one! In my desire to get back to bloggings hey day I decided to do something to collaborate with my fellow bloggers and help my readers discover some of my favorite reads.
For those of you new to my blog here is a little bit about myself. I started blogging when I ventured into the world of interior design. This blog started with me figuring out all of the ropes like schooling, my first clients, officially launching my design business and becoming a mom for the first time! I’m now a mom of two little boys, Hudson (4 years old) and Asher (22 months). They are adorable and keep me on my toes. You see quite a bit of them if you follow me on snapchat (camilapavone). I do some freelance writing for HGTV and Domino and work with local and virtual design clients.
I recently spruced up my bedroom with a new comforter. We had our old one almost 10 years and I didn’t realize how paper thin it was until our new one arrived. I went with the luxe down alternative comforter from Crane & Canopy and it is like sleeping with an amazing marshmallow. I love it! So, since I have been loving my bedroom refresh I decided to make this blog hop all about bedding and my friends at Crane & Canopy were gracious enough to send over some new bedding for their new look.
1. Ok, so tell us the truth how many throw pillows are actually on your bed? 1? 5? more?
My magic number is always 5. I love a traditional with a twist design look and for me that means symmetry. I also go with 2 Euro shams, 2 20″ pillows and then a lumbar pillow.
2. What’s your favorite show or book to read before you go to bed?
My latest obsession is Grace & Frankie. I have adored Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin since 9-5 and they are magic together in this show. I have quickly zipped through season 1 and can’t wait for season 2 in May.
3. For a cozy bed proper bedding is a must. What your favorite bedding company?
I’m a huge fan of Crane & Canopy. In the past couple of years all of my bedding has become theirs. I just love the quality of it. It’s all perfectly yummy hotel style bedding, but there isn’t a huge mark up on it. It can take a beating and with two boys you know that’s a lot of wear and tear and they have a good round up of designs. As a designer I get bored easily and I like to switch things up. It’s a little hard with a patterned wallpaper in my bedroom, but I have found a bunch of options that work in my space. I typically use all white bedding and have their Linden duvet, which I love, but I was eager to try out their french blue color, because it worked perfectly with the vintage loveseat I have at the foot of my bed. I decided to try out the Hayes Nova in french blue. I don’t use a top sheet, but I still enjoy the look of it. With this duvet you get a two toned duvet cover so you can fold it back and have the look of a fitted sheet. I’m also all about design details so I really love the classic white piping on this duvet and it’s matching shams. It was quite a change for me. I typically use all white bedding and have their Linden duvet, which I love, but I was eager to try out their french blue color, because it worked perfectly with the vintage loveseat I have at the foot of my bed.
4. What your wake up call in the morning? An old school alarm clock? Your cell phone? Your kids? Your pet?
I use to have an actual alarm clock on my nightstand, but with two kids it’s no longer needed. We are up at least once during the night and I typically wake up with one or two of my boys in my bed. We are working on Hudson not getting out of bed before the sun comes up and it seems to be working, but he is still up around 6am. Can’t wait till the day where we get to sleep in and require an alarm clock again, but I don’t see that happen anytime soon.
5. Favorite breakfast in bed meal?
Breakfast is one of my favorite meals so I have a couple of favorites. I love a great salt bagel that is hopefully still warm from the bagel shop with butter. Yum! I also enjoy some french toast, home fries and bacon! But seriously all food is yummy in bed.

A big thank you to Crane & Canopy for gifting me the beautiful duvet. All opinions are my own. They are truly a company I love and use all of time. I think I have gifted it to everyone in my family!
All of the beautiful photos are taken by Liz of Elizabeth Kristin Photography. If you are in the NY area you must check her out! She does all of my family shoots.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Hi Camila –
I have always loved your chic colorful style. You use the color orange better than anyone. Grace and Frankie…I am counting down the days. Season 2 can’t get here fast enough!
Thanks for inviting me to be part of the bedroom blog tour.
Thank you for your sweet words. I do adore orange.
Ugh I know with Grace and Frankie! What a cliff hanger! I want to know what happens.
Love your beautiful, colorful bedroom! So pretty. Thanks so much for including me in this fun blog hop!
Loved your room too! Thanks for joining in on the fun!
I check your blog every day. Obviously, I enjoy your decorating style. Today, however, I am disappointed. I expected more than just a new quilt. Looking at the comments above, I am in the minority
Hi Jean,
Not sure if this comment is meant for me, because I don’t have a quilt on my bed. So sorry you were disappointed.
Camila
Love it! So pretty and fun at the same time. Great all around.
This may be something to consider for Hudson!
