We had a beautiful weekend with amazing weather. What is it about a little sunshine that helps make all seem right with the world.
On Saturday we tackled a bunch of errands like getting new shoes for the boys, trying to find pants that don’t slide off their teeny waists and I may or may not have dragged them into Paper Source. Ok, I did! It’s just such a pretty shop. My past work experience is in buying and let me tell you it was a snooze, but I think it would be so much fun for Paper Source.
That evening Jon and Hudson headed out on a father/son date to Monster Jam! Hudson loved it! I headed out to a 65th birthday party so I wasn’t with them. I did get to face time with them and see my little man enjoy the show. He was concentrating so deeply that he didn’t notice I was on the phone.
On Sunday we tackled a little DIY blanket ladder project in the morning.
Then on Sunday we took it easy in the morning and then while the boys napped with Jon I ventured out with my sister and mom to Lord & Taylor. I seriously wanted everything I saw. So many pretty options!
I loved these shorts. They reminded me of my favorite serapa blankets. So perfect for the summer!
Our main reason for our shopping outing was for my Mom to find shoes for my sisters wedding. She found a pretty pair and I did a little shopping myself and fell in love with these shoes:
They are blush with a striped chunky heel and I was super bummed when they didn’t have my size!
We ended our day at my parents house for dinner. It was so beautiful out we played a little soccer outside with the boys while we waited for dinner.
Asher bought his own date to dinner:
We ended our night on a sweet note with a stop at Carvel before we headed home. Have you guys seen these drip cone holders before? I just heard of cone version on Shark Tank and then bam plastic ones at Carvel this weekend.
All in all it was a great weekend. I didn’t accomplish a ton of work or housework, but we got to spend time together and enjoy ourselves. What else can you ask for?

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Paper Source is a weakness
