My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Thanks for your tutorial!!! I had a sweer friend move into her own place and I made some for her. She loved them! Thanks again.
Yay! That’s great!
How many coats Mog Podge should go over top to keep them water proof from condensation on cups.
I did two coats and it worked perfectly.
Hello, would love to use up some material, lovely idea, but is 2 Coates of mod podge enough, worried about stains etc..thankyou for any advice
Yes, it should be good enough. 🙂
what a totally fabulous idea!! Thanks for sharing.
What type of fabric did you use foe this one?
I’s from Designers Guild.
Just an FYI, Mod Podge takes 28 days to fully cure. Until then it may be sticky to the touch when it gets wet.
Oh good point! Mine was okay after a day of drying, but I didn’t start putting wet glasses on top of it.
What do you use the contact paper for? It’s not double sided, do how does the cork stick to the back of the
tile?
It’s cork contact paper. So one side is cork and the opposite side is sticky contact paper.
What a fabulous idea 🙂
Would this coaster be suitable for hot drinks?
Thank you! I don’t see why not! I have used it for both and have had no issues.
Does the material protect the tile if it should fall on the floor? Should we tell people that it is breakable tile underneath the material?
I do love the idea but concerned for safety.
