Hope you all had a lovely weekend celebrating your mommas! I started off my weekend a little early, by sneaking off Friday morning to a Mothers’ tea with Hudson!
We had a lovely time and I came home with the sweetest floral wreath that he made. I made sure to put it up right away.
On Saturday we woke up bright and early to get Asher a birthday gift! You see this time of year is super busy for us. Years ago I was born on Mother’s day and then 2 years ago Asher was born on Mother’s day. So, we have both of our birthdays and Mother’s day to celebrate very close together. We decided to throw Ash a little birthday bash during Mother’s day this year so that all of our immediate family could be there.
Bikes were on the list we picked up a matching set for the boys. Hudson was owed one from his December birthday.
After some birthday shopping for Asher I ran some wedding related errands with my sisters. We went into DSW and found so many cute finds.
We were only in there for around 30 mins and I found so many good things! I need to go in there more often.
We had dinner out that night to celebrate my birthday! We had a fun night out and then returned home for cake! My sisters picked me up a famous birthday cake from Milk Bar.
So pretty!
So yummy!
On Sunday we hosted Mother’s day at our house. Now as a mom myself I wasn’t exactly excited about hosting since I wanted some time to relax, but I knew it would be nice to have everyone at the house so the boys could run around and play with their toys.
So, in order to make things easy on myself I decided to host an indoor picnic since the weather was going to be bad. We ordered in a hero from a local deli and some sides, then I warmed up some pigs in a blanket and set out chips, a salad, fruit and some sweets.
We ordered a spiderman cake for Asher so that was dessert:

Such a fun weekend!!! I even had downtime to watch most of Grace & Frankie season 2. I only have 3 episodes left!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
