If I had one word to summarize this weekend it would be hot. Actually it might be humid. The weather was intense this weekend and while it was nice to have a sunny day the heat made you want to stay locked inside all day! We managed to go outside for a little, but I always managed to stay indoors and get caught up on Younger and binge watch season 1 and 2.
Here is what we were up to!
I’m not going to lie Saturday was spent pretty low key with lots of time just hanging out at home. In the afternoon we finally ventured out to get some items for our laundry room revamp.
Home Depot was our first stop.
After picking up our supplies we roomed around the store and found chic outdoor lanterns that were on sale. They even had cute ones with rope handles.
After Home Depot we ran into Michaels to get some craft supplies for the boys. I can’t stay focused at Michaels. One things or another always catches my eye. Loved this cute Hello sign.
I didn’t pick up the Hello sign, but I did pick up some metal letters for the laundry room. All of the letters were 70 percent off! I was dying to pick up DRY as well, but I couldn’t find the letters.
We also had a good mail day. You can see a peek of the runner for the laundry room above and I also received my beautiful wreath from Genevieve Designs. Stay tuned for a new front door look!
On Sunday we spent most of the day working on the laundry room.
We put down the floor and it was pretty easy to tackle.
Of course when we were half way done and went to open a new box of tile we realized they sent us the wrong color!
We had been using the white with gray veining and the last boxes we had were beige. Ugh! Project over. We now have to wait for the new replacement boxes to arrive.
I went thru my fabric stash and found a pretty green fabric I want to use for a faux roman shade in the laundry room.
In honor of national ice cream day we also had ice cream multiple times! Whoops!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
