Rain, rain, go away! It was one of those weekend where the rain just wouldn’t stop. I mean gray stormy clouds and super loud and heavy rain. It was a perfect weekend just to stay at home and we pretty much did a whole lot of that. On Saturday it was the afternoon before I even showered! I had a lot of work to do so I pretty much just sat with my lap top and clicked away. Asher kept coming over and slamming it down saying, THE END!
I did take a break from work to wrap up the 9 banana breads I made the night before. I had a ton of bananas so I made a bunch of different varieties. I took my time on Saturday to wrap them up all pretty!
I also stepped away from work for a while to color with the boys:
I spent the rest of Saturday hanging out at my parents house with my family and watching my sister’s wedding video! So good! Still anxiously awaiting the photos!!!!
On Sunday we woke up super early and visited Jon’s family because they had just returned from Ireland! I got the sweetest gift from them. Aren’t these rose gold flats adorable?
When we returned home I got to work cleaning up a bit. I went through my office and started putting together some pillows I’m using for a new reveal in a couple of weeks. Love the Nantucket stripe pillows from Mintwood Home. Such an amazing size (22″ x 22″) and only $48 with an insert! LOVE!
I also had time to snap a picture of the cute elephant wall charm that my parents bought me back from their trip to Colombia. I love it!
Then I took advantage of my new laundry room! Have you entered the give-away yet? I did my whites in the LG Sidekick and then my normal load above and was done with laundry super fast.
Then my sister called to see if I could sneak out for a little bit. So I put on my sassy hair wrap and lipstick and hit the road.Isn’t it adorable? A random purchase from my local dollar tree.
We went to our happy place and she got her brows done at Benefit Brow Bar. They are all amazing there!
I picked up something to pass the time during my rainy afternoon back at home.
Another random purchase that makes me happy. Pretty wallpaper that will probably never actually get used to wrap a gift, because I like it so much.
Like all good summer nights we ended ours with lots of ice cream!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
