Guys, this was a busy weekend! We had two birthdays that started at around the same time and where an hour an half apart! So, we had a lot of cake and did a lot of driving on Saturday.
Our first party was a surprise 30th Birthday!
I made the birthday girl a custom painting for her daughter’s nursery. Once upon a time Jon and I had an etsy shop with our artwork, but with the boys life got too busy and it sort of disappeared. I really love painting so, I still do projects for friends and family. I love these heart paintings. They take forever to do, but they are just so happy that it’s worth all of the time!
The massive birthday cake that the boys were obsessed with! I hate to run over and stop Ash from putting his little fingers in the frosting!
After cake we ran out to Goldens Bridge! I had never been to this part of NY, but it was super cute and the amount of land you can get with your house is insane. This house had a large pond in the backyard and looked more like a park then a backyard.
All parties with kids must have some sort of bounce slide. This thing kept the kids busy the entire party! Amazing babysitter! Haha. Don’t worry I was either in it with Ash or watching closely from the sidelines.
I’m Asher’s favorite playmate so in my party attire from the surprise 30th brunch I had to lose my leopard heels and climb into everything in my DVF dress to play.
The kids weren’t the only ones playing. Jon and his friend Steve got in on the action as well.
How cute are my guys? Hudson never smiles and looks at the camera, so I’m very excited about this shot! I need to crop out that garbage and get it printed! Whoops. Just noticed that now.
It was a long day, but fun was had by all.
On Sunday Jon took the boys exploring and they went to the beach to look for crabs while I stayed home and did some home stuff like laundry and got work done.
In the afternoon we went to Nassau Museum of Art. It was a beautiful day and they have amazing gardens that you can walk thru and they were hosting an art fair, which I wanted to check out.
Theresa Losa is an artist that has an amazing series called Summer Lovin and when I stumbled upon her work on instagram I was smitten. I was excited to find her both and meet her and her 3 kids. They were all adorable! We talked a little and she told me that her mother and grandmother are both artists as well and that painting is in her blood. She has done the Summer Lovin series for the last couple of years and it has really taken off. Currently she only sells her pieces through galleries so if you want more information on that then reach out to her at theresalosa1@gmail.com. She is working on getting prints produced so, stay tuned for that! Her most exciting news is that in the next month her work will be available thru Serena and Lily!
I love the whimsy in her pieces! I wanted everything in the both!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
