This weekend I decided to tackle our front stoop and zhush it up a bit. I don’t normally do a lot of seasonal decorating. Not because I don’t like it, but because I can never find the time for it. I also don’t have a ton of storage in my house so, having to store decor for every season and holiday is not in the cards.
We painted the trim around the door this weekend and it was so nice to see it fresh and bright! I can’t believe we waited this long to finally get around to it.
Then it was time to dress it up. I didn’t want to go all out Halloween so I just went with a Fall theme.
What is more Fall then mums? I was driving by Walmart and saw that they had a whole bunch of them! I picked up two massive ones at $18 each and smaller ones for $6 each. They also had adorable hay bales for $6 each as well!
The small mums came in adorable planters that had burlap bows. They are plastic so I won’t be keeping them around forever, but it was nice to not have to replant them.
I picked up an extra large welcome door mat at Target and it was perfect fit for my front stoop. I love the scale of it and it’s classic with a minimal scalloped border on it. It was the only time I have walked into Target and only come out with one thing! I was a lady on a mission that was set to finish up the front stoop.
I also flanked the doormat with outdoor lanterns. These are no longer available, but these are similar.
My favorite part was the wreath. I had an absolutely stunning wreath, but I wanted something a little spooky for the boys! I picked up a wooden spider at Michaels for $5 and removed the monogram and bow and added the spider!
I wanted some pumpkins as well, but the squirrels love to eat them! I put one out and it seems like minutes later it already has a big bite of it!
Easy, budget friendly and a welcomed change for fall! Check out my fun door from last year!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
