Another weekend that has gone by way too quickly! How do we go about instituting 3 day weekends as the norm? Wouldn’t that be amazing! On Saturday I ran a million and one errands and was going, going, going until that evening!
We went out to dinner with Jon’s family to celebrate his dad’s birthday! They came over early to celebrate with the boys first. So, I will admit I hate cake before we even headed out to dinner!
I was feeling fall for my outfit and I wore my favorite new floral dress (It’s seriously amazing. So comfy and chic and cheap!), mustard scarf and an animal print coat! Plus some elephant jewelry. Duh.
On Sunday morning I celebrated losing 2.5 pounds this week by making brownies! What? Isn’t that what you would do?
Always sprinkle a little powdered sugar on box mix brownies! My secret way of making them look homemade. Shh!
I actually made the brownies in the pan size they recommend 8″x8″ and omg! They came out so thick and chewy! Will always bake them in this size pan now!
Totally random, but how adorable are these new plates from Cheeky? It’s part of a collaboration they did with Brit & Co. The napkins are equally adorable! Plus check out the to go coffee cups!
I picked up A Little Life earlier this month after it was recommended at book club and wow! I was told it was amazing, but really disturbing. It is both. It is beautifully written and an amazing story but there are parts where you are literally on the edge of tears, but know that if you start you won’t stop and also have your stomach turning because you are so upset. I picked up it up constantly this weekend reading a little here or there and stayed up till 1 last night with it. I only have 100 pages left. Go pick up a copy!
In the morning I decided to snap some photos of the front stoop because I had it decorated for fall and then the trim around the door was chipping really badly in one spot so, I asked Jon to fit and that little spot turned into this!
Basically we sanded down the whole door frame area and repainted it all! Our families arrived to go to a Fall festival and Jon was still hanging from a ladder!
We left a base coat driving and headed out to Sands Point Preserve for their Fall festival. It was a beautiful day and the boys had a lot of fun!
We got to pick pumpkins:
Then they had tables set up where you could paint your pumpkins. All of the tables were packed so we set up on the grass.
Even the auntie’s joined in to paint their own pumpkins!
The grounds are beautiful with views of Hempstead Habor.
They had a small farmers market area set up, a petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides and a food truck area!
It was a fun day out with everyone! We ended our weekend by heading to the beach to hunt for crabs and then to the docks to do a little fishing! Hudson was pretty excited to catch this little guy.
Such a fun weekend! Hope yours was enjoyable as well!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Love your buffalo check red and white scarf!!! Do you mind sharing where you got it?
Love all your fall pictures!!
It was a gift! Let me ask my sister and get back to you! Not sure if it matters to you but it’s actually a hot pink sort of color not red.
I would love a hot pink color as well!! I am all about red or hot pink, and I love them together, too. I have a black/white buffalo check infinity scarf I got last year, but haven’t seen one like this.
Thanks.
