We didn’t accomplish a ton this weekend, but we did get one major thing crossed off our list! When Hudson was little I had him in a number of swim classes, but he was so little that they really didn’t seem to do much of anything except for getting the kids comfortable in the water and he already loved the water. From swim we moved on to soccer lessons and for the past year I’ve been itching to get him back into swimming. I’ve spoken of my love for Life Time before and one of the main reasons I wanted to join was because of all of the great perks for the boys. First off was the Kids Academy and then they were offering one free month of swim lessons when I signed up!
So, this past week I went in to do an assessment with them and figure out what level they were in. Saturday morning we had our first lessons!
We got their a little early and the boys played around for a little and then Hudson was up with his lesson first! There was only one other student in his group lesson, which was amazing! The instructor was super nice and Hudson was eager to chat and tell him everything he already knew to do.

The classes are 30 mins long and they really jammed a lot into it.
When Hudson was done with his class he back in the pool with Jon and Asher and showed them his new moves.
Next up was Asher! Now Asher hasn’t had any classes, but he loves the water. So much so that the little man actually thinks he can swim and he totally can’t. He does love go to under water though and he can hold his breath for a long time.
Within seconds of starting his class Asher decided to show off and show the instructor that he knew how to float. Apparently Jon was practicing with Asher before hand during Hudson’s lesson.
Ash did really good during his lesson and he got bumped up to the next level! Apparently he knew more than we actually thought.
The boys had a blast and I was spying the jacuzzi in the background. Next time I will leave the camera at home and bring my suit and swim instead!
We actually spent most of our day at Life Time while we showered the boys, got a snack at the cafe and then dropped them at Kids Academy. While they played I headed to yoga and Jon left to go fishing!
In the early evening we had plans to go over to Jon’s parents house to celebrate his mom’s birthday! I was in charge of desserts and made a funfetti cake!
On our way out the door I realized I didn’t have a birthday card so, we stopped into Target. It was then that I saw they were having a 30% off sale on toys and games!!! I called Jon who was waiting in the parking lot and told him to drop off the boys at his parents and come back so, that we could get their Christmas shopping done!
It was a bit crazy in there. I just started grabbing things I remembered from their list, because of course I didn’t have it with me. Then Jon arrived and we assessed what we had. We looked nuts. I had toys going down an aisle in two separate piles to make sure things were even. We also have Hudson’s birthday in early December so, we needed gifts for that as well.
We got some looks from people. Especially little kids that were amazed to see a cart filled up with toys, but it wasn’t that bad. We didn’t go nuts. The toys they wanted were in big boxes so they took up a good amount of space in the cart.
I left on a high! It’s not even Thanksgiving and I’m done with the boys! Woo-hoo! Now I’m trying to knock everyone else up my list quickly. Stay tune for a bunch of gift guides with so many good options that I’ve been finding.
You know what I forgot at Target? The birthday card I went in for! Whoops! The birthday girl didn’t mind because look at this amazing candle display I had for her cake.
You know what we did on Sunday? Nothing! It was freezing out and nothing seemed that important to leave the house. So, I stayed in my pj’s and worked on gift guides and watched lots of Star Wars with all of the men in the house.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
Hi Camila. Just wanted to suggest to please be sure and use “Swim Ear” (brand name) or some other product to put in your son’s ears after they get through swimming at an indoor pool. We had to learn that lesson the hard way with my daughter getting numerous bouts of painful swimmer’s ear. Hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving!
