I always make sure the boys have cute holiday pj’s, but I never really put much thought into what I wear. My pj’s normally consist of some random t-shirt and an old pair of yoga pants. Totally darling, right? Ugh. I have gotten better this past year and I have actually picked up pj’s and this time around I decided I wanted holiday pj’s as well! So I picked up a plaid sleep shirt similar to these. Mine was purchased at Old Navy in this pattern, but it’s no longer available online. Of course I can’t leave good enough alone so, I decided to add a little holiday saying with felt letters and voila my tutorial for DIY felt letter holiday pj’s!
Here is what you’ll need:
-Article of clothing: I picked pj’s, but you could use whatever you like.
-Felt: A sheet or two of felt will do. I went with a glitter red.
-Scissors
-Iron
–Heavy duty wonder under fusible fabric
Step 1: Cut a piece of your heavy duty wonder under fusible fabric and iron it on to the back side of the felt you are using. You can do this with any fabric, but when you use felt you don’t need to worry about frayed edges. I did this project with fabric here if you want to see how that works.
Step 2: Print out your saying in whatever font and size you like! I went with FA LA LA! Attach print out to your felt on the right side of the fabric (fusible side will be on the back) and cut out your letters.
Step 3: Decide on your placement.
Step 4: Get a damp cloth and place over your letters. Then iron for 10-15 secs on each letter. Felt is thick so, it will probably take a couple of rounds of doing this to get it fully stick. Once it fully adheres you will be able to run this in the washing machine.
Now you are ready to enjoy Christmas morning!
Guys, how cute are my socks? I picked them up at Old Navy as well, but can’t find them online. Hopefully you can still find them in stores!
It was such an easy project! Tackled it quickly while Hudson was at school the other day! Now I’m ready to add a felt letter applique to everything! Perhaps another silhouette applique pillow of the boys. I never made one for Asher!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I’m a sucker for felt projects. Very cute.
Me too! It was so easy!
