Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to wish everyone a merry everything! So whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukah or Kwanzaa I hope you are enjoying your holiday with those close to you! This year is extra special around here, because the boys are finally getting into it all and they are super excited! I’ve been building numerous gingerbread houses, helping with wish lists, baking cookies for Santa, listening to Christmas music non-stop, enjoying evenings by the fire and overall just being present in the season. I didn’t go crazy with holiday decor throughout the entry house, but I did make sure that the spirit of Christmas was loud and clear in the living room! I managed to snap some photos while it was cleaned up for a matter of minutes aka Hudson was still at school and Asher was distracted in the other room.
You all know my style is full of color and my home doesn’t really work with the traditional red, green and gold Christmas decor. That didn’t stop me from making it look seasonal with my merry and bright look! I love color and decided to embrace it and make it work for Christmas.
Take a peek!
My light up reindeer bust was a purchase during a big Country/Cottage style moment I was having years ago. I still love it so, I made it more me by adding a bold kelly green bow!
How cute are these Fa La La letters! The Target spot got me yet again! They were colorful and full of glitter! Win, win.
I didn’t swap out any pillows, because I simply ran out of time and everything I wanted would have needed to be custom made. So, I added a little dose of winter to the furniture with faux sheepskin rugs.
Typically I just put colorful bows on my tree. I love the mix of the patterns in the ribbon and fabric scraps, but this year since the boys were really into Christmas I decided we would tackle ornaments and deal with whatever breaks happened! I had a good amount of soft and unbreakable ornaments which was great, but I did manage to pick up some adorable glass ones at Michaels that have survived!
My tree skirt is always a faux tree skirt that I bunch around the tree with some of my mini black and white gingham fabric.
The fireplace got into the Christmas spirit as well with some faux garland that I zhushed up with sparkly ornaments and some pom pom garland.
I was also excited to finally hang the stockings I picked up from Furbish last year during their after Christmas sale!
So, there is a little peek into my holiday decor! I had all intentions of getting everyone into Christmas PJ’s and taking an adorable photo for this blog post, but I ran out of time and instead of stressing out I’m just letting it go!
I hope you all have a lovely holiday! I will be spending the day making some appetizers and desserts for my family’s celebration tonight and then a big Pavone celebration on Christmas day!
Not sure what my blog schedule will be like next week, but I will definitely see you in the new year!
xoxo,
Camila
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
