Another weekend that has gone by way too quickly. Luckily Jon is off this week! He had a bunch of vacation days that weren’t going to roll over into next year so, voila impromptu vacation. We even decided to venture out on a little road trip towards the end of the week and head to Woodstock, Vermont. If you have any recommendations of must go to places please let me know!
On Saturday we were up bright and early I headed to Zumba at Life Time and then met the boys at the pool for their swim lessons. They are doing so good! Hudson actually advanced to the next level already!
Isn’t the studio pretty? It’s reminds me of a dance studio and when they turn down the lights and pump up the music it’s hard not to totally get into and feel like you are a dancer in a music video. Luckily I’m concentrating so much on the steps that I’m not paying attend to seeing myself in the mirror. Zumba has become an obsession and I’m so lucky to be able to attend a couple of classes during the week and then weekend classes.
Then we spent a bunch of time at home finishing up our lights outside. I even went out and picked up one of those massive inflatable holiday lawn decor items that I swore I would never buy. The boys are super excited for Christmas this year and they are loving everyone’s outside decor so, I knew we had to step things up this year.
We put up some ceramic colored lights on the house:
Then I got to work on testing out some cookie recipes! I’m hosting another cookie exchange this weekend and I’m in it to win it! I tried out two cookies, Hot Cocoa and S’more’s and while they cooked perfectly I’m not in love with either one. Back to the drawing board. Any amazing recipes I need to know about? Help!
My Black Friday orders have also started to come in and I was excited to get this new rug for the entry way.
In between all of the baking we hung out in the living room and did a lot of coloring with the boys.
We ended the night driving the boys around the neighborhood and checking out all of the Christmas lights.
On Sunday we were up bright and early! We had yummy Trader Joe’s chocolate waffles! They are new and so yummy! A little powdered sugar and fresh strawberries and it looks a totally homemade meal!
After breakfast we headed out to Life Time. As the weather is getting colder and the shopping areas around me are getting busier on the weekends due to the holiday rush we have been doing most of errands/shopping during the week and are now left with a lot of empty blocks of time during the weekend especially on Sundays.
After dropping the boys off at Kids Academy I actually went with Jon to the weights section, which I tend to ignore and he showed me how to use some of the weight machines.
The roman chair was one of my favorites:
I could not keep my legs up as straight as Jon, but I did it and it burned. Amazing core exercise. I will be back to tackle it!
We spent the rest of the day at home doing laundry, baking a bit more and introducing the boys to Home Alone! They loved it! They just kept giggling and giggling. So sweet!
Jon and I ended the night watching United States of Tara. There was nothing on TV the other night so, I decided to start watching it and we are now hooked! So good!
Happy Monday!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
