How is it Monday already? This weekend felt like it just flew by! I mean, don’t they all! We had a low key weekend at home because I had to tackle a bunch of projects for the blog. Here is what we were up to!
First things first! On Friday I was at Ikea and I stumbled upon these amazing Bokarv cushion covers. Aren’t they stunning? They are made of actual rug material and are so colorful and pretty! So, Friday technically wasn’t the weekend yet, but I had to share in case you didn’t them on instagram or instagram stories.
We had our early morning swim lessons for the boys and I had zumba class the instructor actually did a dance to 80’S classic, Take on Me and it was amazing!
I’m quite the Zumba addict at the moment and I hate doing laundry so, whats a girl to do when she has no clean gym clothes? Buy more! What? Gap was having a crazy sale.
When we got home we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and tackle some spray painting projects that had been piling up.
Hudson was dying to get in on the action. So, finally after a ton of pleading I let him help me spray paint this cute sign from Target’s dollar spot that I want to use a part of a wreath for my front door.
Then I tackled about 5 different DIY projects that I was working on for the blog. No sneak peeks of that, but if you follow me on instagram and view my stories than you got some sneak peeks! They are so good! Can’t wait to share. Almost done with them.
When I had a little down time I flipped thru my favorite entertaining book, Celebrating Everything! by Darcy Miller. It’s amazing. So many great ideas. My sister’s birthday is coming up and I’m charge of cake, which I take so seriously. Found a lot of great ideas.
Love those bow hair barrettes? I found them at…..the Dollar Tree!
Also obsessed with the sunglasses I picked up at Forever 21. Asher looks to break my sunglasses and I love to lose them so I like to stay in the less than $10 price range for glasses and these were each $5.90!
I also started gathering up all of the Valentine’s day supplies I have been picking up. Toying with doing a Valentine’s day entertaining post and I think this is a good start.
Sunday. I’m sure everyone is aware by now that Sunday was the Women’s March on Washington. Months ago my sister asked me if I wanted to go and I was having a stressful day with the boys and work and I couldn’t even imagine being able to get away for a day so, I said no. I totally regretted it on Sunday. It was such an amazing sight to see all of those passionate people expressing how they feel. I was with them in spirit! I know politics is such a hot topic lately and we are all so divided, but hopefully we can all show a little love to each other and get to a better place.
With that being said my Sunday was a lot less news worthy. We had a lazy morning at home making breakfast and then I went off to Zumba. While I did that Jon dropped the boys off at a playdate! Since we realized we had a little over an hour free without the kids we went on a lunch date after my Zumba class. I crave this salad from Tocolo Cantina a little too much. It’s so good!
It’s Bibb and Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, roasted corn, jicama, avocado, cucumbers with a green chile lime vinaigrette and it’s drool worthy!
You know what else I got to do? Read a magazine blissfully without interruptions! Drop off play dates are awesome!
The rest of the day was spent working on those DIY projects that consumed my weekend along with a marathon of watching Flea Market Flip!
How was your weekend?

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
