I have been working on a couple of Valentine’s day DIY projects so I have the big day on my mind. We don’t take Valentine’s very seriously around here, but it is nice to eat some chocolate out of a heart shaped box and who ever said no to a gift. Not this lady! So, I put together a Valentine’s gift guide full of my favorite finds.
No. 1 Gifts don’t need to be a big financial investment. I love a chic candle and for me it’s all about the container. Love the marble look on this candle and it’s less than $20.
No. 2 I love cute little dishes. I have them sprinkled throughout the house and I always use them when for loose change, bobby pins, and jewelry. Love this little dish and it’s currently on sale for $3.79!!!!!
No. 3 It may seem silly, but I have been searching for one of these pretty face vases for months now! I saw a vintage version on instagram and fell in love with it and then could never find one! You can’t imagine the joy that spread across my face when I found this.
No. 4 Dwell Magazine has a new collaboration with Target and this perfectly pink throw is one of my favorites!
No. 5 I love cookies and my favorites have to be from Levain Bakery in NYC. They are massive and chewy and just yummy. They are so amazing that the line for them is always crazy and they now have a camera feed so you can check out the line before you head out to brave it! Trust me it’s always worth the wait! Not in NY? Don’t worry they delivery.
No. 6 It’s so funny how mainstream emoji’s have gotten. Both sets of grandparents love to use them and Hudson is the biggest fan of all. I use them sparingly, but I do appreciate the double heart one and how perfect is this ring for Valentine’s day? Love.
No. 7 Everyone could use some heart shaped sunglasses to view the world from.
No. 8 Ok, so I know no one needs a heart lighting pendant, but a girl can want it. Isn’t it just the chicest piece of lighting. It would look so amazing in a boutique.
No. 9 I never treat myself to fancy lip balm, but I do love getting gifted Sugar lip balm. I have received the plain version in the past, but this tinted version looks fun! Also vying for their lip polish. The winter months give me horrible chapped lips.
No. 10 This shibora pillow is the perfect shade of pink. It’s called petal and I’m totally into it! Sign me up for a pair!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
