Ah! Another weekend that went way too quickly! We had a busy Saturday with another open house going on at our house and we were attending a handleful of open houses ourselves! It’s so stressful selling our house without having our new house figured out. We are trying to have open minds with everything we see, but it’s slim pickings out there. I need an extra 300k to get something I would actually love and even with that it would be dated and still need work! Real Estate in the suburbs near NYC is madness.
After hitting the open houses, which left more to be desired we decided to treat ourselves to lunch by the beach! We headed to Northport, which is an adorable L.I. town that has everything I love and picked up some sandwiches on Main St and headed to the dock!
We did some exploring and found some lobster traps.
There was also a playground so, Jon and I actually got sit and relax for a minute while the boys played.
We also popped into Northport Sweet Shop, which is a luncheonette that is known for their home made ice cream and chocolates. The boys enjoyed their chocolate scoops and I enjoyed the vintage decor. The Sweet Shop has been around since the 1930’s and you totally get transported in time when you walk thru their doors.
We also went into Einstein’s Attic, which is amazing toy store with so many goodies!
I loved checking out everything they had. The shop was perfectly curated and I even found something that I was dying for! I mean! How adorable is this purse?
They had stand full of pets in purses!
We ended our day at Jon’s parents house where we got to celebrate Easter a week early! The boys searched for eggs, ate way too much chocolate and I got to eat a piece of this yummy bunny cake!
On Sunday we had viewings at our house so, we needed to get out of the house! So, off we went and ended up at Diane’s and then headed off to the beach to eat our dessert and do some exploring!
Jon found some sand worms, which were some scary looking little guys! They seriously had little fangs like a vampire. Craziness!
It was just the perfect spring day.
We spent the rest of the day at home playing outside on the trampoline and doing lots of bouncing! The boys never get tired of it. Such a fun weekend full of lots of time near the water, which is always delightful!
Happy Monday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
