Is it just me or are 3 day weekends exhausting?! I’m so wiped from all of the activities we attended that when the boys started asking for breakfast at 7am I just wanted to hit snooze!
Here is what we were up to this weekend!
We attended an adorable outside bash for an equally adorable 1 year old! This year I started renting a desk in a studio share and not only has it been amazing to work outside of my house. No, doing laundry and juggling a client project while I’m there, but it’s also introduced me to new people! As an adult it’s so hard to make friends and being in the studio space has bought about many new friendships with fellow creative mommas. One in particular is Jackie from, Sincerely Jackie and The Everyday Mother. We got along immediately when we went and the days we are in the studio together we do a lot of chatting while we work. During those chats I learned that Jackie HELLP Syndrome while she was pregnant with her first child. She had to deliver 14 weeks early and her son, Richie was in the NICU for 99 days! Richie was a total miracle so, I was honored to attend his 1st birthday party!
Fellow studio mate Allison from Allison Vaz Designs did the beautiful calligraphy on the chalkboard sign.
Adorable birthday signage that was perfectly designed by Jackie.
There were tassel accents throughout the party space.
Beautiful color filled photobooth back drop. I was in awe of the pretty shades she had, because I had never seen rolls of it in those shades and Jackie let me in on a little secret! She had actually bought crepe paper, which has a lot more color options and then sliced them into the width of traditional rolls. Genius!
The party was outdoors, so the perfect party menu was burgers and hot dogs plus all of the fixins! I loved the cute signage and giggled a little too much with the part about nibbling Richie’s buns. Hehe. Yes, I’m a 5 year old.
Perfectly white birthday cake was dressed up with colorful candles.
The boys had the best time meeting new friends and finding caterpillars everywhere.
On Sunday we had a big BBQ to attend and I got dolled up in my new favorite skirt, from Zara! I tried to keep my phone away and be present so, that’s literally the only shot I took!
On Monday the parties kept coming! We headed out to brunch to celebrate Jon’s sisters birthday! She loves her dog Harry and requested a dog stroller for her birthday! I wasn’t sure if she was serious, but I got confirmation, that she did in fact want one, so I picked up this dog stroller and this dog carrier as well.
They both loved it. Harry is obsessed with Jenn carrying in so, while he was confused at first once he settled into it he actually fell asleep in it!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
