Did you know that today is national donut day! Any excuse to eat a donut guilt free is good enough for me! One of my favorite food related projects I have done on the blog are these adorable and delicious donuts! I realized that you could purchase naked donuts from Dunkin Donuts and an idea was born! It’s so easy to pick up a supplies and host your own donut decorating party!
Here what else caught my eye this week!
– As a decorator even picking out a switch plate cover is important. Anthropologie is always the best source for beautiful hardware and they don’t disappoint with their switch plates. Isn’t it darling? I love the metal accents and handpainted look of the pattern. Swoon.
-Have you seen Emily’s summer home tour? I’m a big fan of black and tan together and I love how she lighted things up in her living room by adding some touches of tan and brown and leaving her black accents as is. Along with including a fab DIY art project.
-Have you picked up a pair of Birkenstocks, yet? I got a new pair last year and this summer they have again become my sandal of choice. They are so comfy and I get complements on them everywhere! I have the rose gold birkenstocks, which I think go with everything since it’s not a silver or a gold. It’s a nice middle ground and a zhushed up neutral.
-So many of the new houses we have toured on our house hunt have pools. Pools were never a deal maker or breaker for me. Sure it would be nice to have one during the summer, but it also scares me a little with the boys and it’s added work/up keep. But now that I keep seeing them in houses and I’m leaning towards thinking how much fun it would be to have one and I’m already envisioning many pool parties and this chic pool boy sign. Last house we say actually had a separate pool house! Imagine that! Or course the rest of the house was teeny tiny so, it’s not going to work and the hunt continues.
-I love bamboo anything and everything so, I was really excited to stumble upon this chic bamboo tray table. Such a cute little additional perk that can be dressed up as a little bar station and also folded and stored away if you don’t have space for it year round.
Happy Friday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
