Happy Monday! We had the best weekend? Did we get to see any potential new homes? No! There is seriously nothing on the market at the moment. I have seen it all. I’m trying not to let it bother me, but it’s been 3 weeks of silence with the new house front and last night I had a mini break down. So, lots of deep breathes today and I think it’s finally time to purchase some essential oils and pretty much cover myself in them from head to toe. But, enough about my housing woes. Let’s talk about all of the weekend activities!
I can’t remember if I have already talked about it here, but Jon started a little side hustle. He is an amazing outdoors man and loves to teach Hudson and Asher all about it. We wanted something a program/club that was a bit different then the traditional scouts that kids could join. Something where both boys and girls could attend and have guided family excursions. This way families could learn about the outdoors together and start exploring on their own. He is going to be offering adventures in fishing, nature walks/planting, crabbing, etc. It’s called, Wild Ones Adventures and we can’t wait to start running adventures. Look out for one in July.
So, due to Wild ones Adventures we have been scouting different locations on Long Island. We found a new location on Saturday and it was beautiful!
It was a beautiful area and the pond had a little family of swans of a ton of little fish! The boys had a blast fishing! Hudson just kept catching them.
After our adventures this momma got to sneak out to Wild Flower Beauty Studio in East Meadow and get my eyelashes lifted and tinted! Danielle’s studio is located in Phenix Salon Suites, which is a super cool building. I had never heard of the concept, but it’s a building where different salons can rent suites. So you walk in and there is eyelashes in one suite, hair color in another, and then nails and massages in others. It’s pretty much a one stop shop for beauty.
Danielle, the owner of the studio is a total sweetheart. She explained all of the steps while she was doing it and was really personable. So, it really just felt like I was chatting with a girlfriend while I was getting it done. An eyelash lift is a way to get longer lashes without having to get eyelash extensions. During the lift they take your natural lashes and a curl to them. They used a shaped shield to define the curl/bump. It’s a faster and cheaper than extensions and it lasts for 2 months. It’s great during the summer because I when you get out of a pool or any water your lashes will already be curled and up. They are practically touching my brows! Also you can apply mascara if you like, which is something you can’t do with extensions.
Guys, I’m obsessed! When I love something I become a professional enthusiast and want everyone to try it out! If you are local to Long Island or even a short train ride away in Manhattan then I would head to see Danielle. It’s $75 for the eyelash lift and tint. You can text her to book an appointment 516-761-1692 and if you mention me, Camila, then you get 10% off. If you get your girlfriend to book with you then you get an additional 10% off!
If you go and get them done you will have to email me photos of your before and afters!
On Sunday we celebrated Father’s day! I hosted at my house, but made things easy by ordering in the food and the cake!
Let’s just say the boys were really excited about the cake!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
