Sorry for the wacky blog post schedule this week. We are moving and have been packing up the entire house! Let me tell you packing up 10 plus years of your life is not fun! Lots of garage bags, totes, and boxes. We should be all moved out by Labor Day and I will be back to my normal Monday thru Friday posting schedule. Anywho here is what peeked my interest this week while I surfed the internet on cell phone and pretended to “pack” for a minute or two!
– I ran out to Ikea this week to get some lighting. I custom picked all of the pieces in my house and I love them so, we put a clause in our listing and contract that it was coming and we would be replacing it with builders grade pieces. Anyway at the check out I noticed their little snacks. Loving the chic packaging.
-Do I need a gold and marble tulip table? No, but I totally want this beauty. It’s Amazing! I also don’t “need” this chandelier, but it would look perfect with it and it’s equally amazing. If I’m not nuts with this fake room then I totally want this vintage rug as well.
-As most of you know since we haven’t found a new house we are going to be moving in with my parents while the hunt continues. I have already been bringing over some of my home decor items to make my spaces in their house feel more like me. I think this cozy throw complete with tassel trim is going to have to make it’s way over to their living room.
-How adorable is this pillow. The pattern mix has me thinking about Fall. While I don’t want summer to end, I’m a big fan of Fall and all it has to offer so I’m excited to start thinking about it. Just not yet, it’s still August!
-Loving these velvet pillows! They are available in perfect moody fall colors and are 20″ for a great price point! They range from $9.99-$18 plus extra 20% off with code EXTRASALE!
Ok, no more talking about Fall for today. It’s back to packing! Time to tackle my furniture shed and see what vintage treasures are getting stored and what is getting dumped! 🙁

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
