The first week of Spring was a doozy in NY. We got hit with a snow storm that lasted two days. The first day it seemed pretty lame and I was baffled as to why school had been canceled, but then overnight the snow kept coming and it truly was a winter wonderland in Spring! Another snow day meant a lot of playing and baking and since I caught a horrible cold a lot of binge watching Hart of Dixie! If you have never seen it you need to start! It’s so good! There are 4 seasons on Netflix and each one is over 20 episodes so it’s been amazing.
-Since it wasn’t spring outside I had to make spring happen indoors. Trader Joe’s always has the best flowers and I love to mix roses, carnations and sunflowers together for a happy mix. Want something that can stand the test of time? Pick up this faux floral arrangement that can move throughout your house for years to come.
-Is this not the prettiest dress for Easter? The pink, the florals, the ruffles! I think I found my outfit! One click lead to another and found so many other amazing options like this ruffled dress, amazing striped jumpsuit, gingham fit and flare dress with pockets, strapless bow front gingham dress, and this seersucker shirt dress and a chambray off the shoulder ruffle jumpsuit! What is a girl to pick?
-Then I went down the shoe rabbit hole and found these beauties! In love with this lilac ballet flats, gingham bow mules (Currently on sale for $15.99!), jeweled flats to dress up any plain jane outfit and mauve wedges that remind of something Madewell would design.
-I think I put on work out leggings at least once a week with no intensions of actually working out. Dying to add these scalloped leggings into my rotation.
-There is something about chinoiserie that I will never tire of. It’s one of my favorite patterns up their toile. Found this duvet and my jaw dropped. You could design a whole room around this beautiful pattern.
-I love the use of brass inlay in tile work, but it can be really time consuming and extremely pricey! Love these tile sheets from Jeff Lewis that have little brass accents at a more affordable price point. A great find if you want you want to test out the style in your backsplash.
Happy Friday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
