Since I share so much of our weekend over on instagram stories I have been a little lack lately with posting about my weekend adventures on the blog as well. I don’t want to overwhelm people with the same photos, but if you still enjoy to see these posts on the blog let me know and I will go back to doing them weekly.
This weekend we went on a little fishing adventure to Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre. It’s on the smaller side, which makes it really easy to bring your kids too. They can’t really get into much trouble and disappear from your sight!
There is a nice big dock area where you can line up and fish. Of course we didn’t catch anything there. We walked a little further and found an area that was actually full of litter, which was so sad. I figured nothing was in there, but Jon swore he saw something so we set up shop there and got to fishing!
The dads started catching the fish and then the kids got into the action!
Look at Asher’s cute face!
We stayed for a little over 2 hours and the kids enjoyed running, playing hide and seek and fishing!
After our little outdoors adventure we went for a bite to eat at The Flour Shoppe Cafe in Rockville Centre. It is always a treat to eat here. Everything is delicious. Just note that it is really popular which means there might be a wait, but it’s worth it!
We were so hungry, which actually ordered dessert before our lunch arrived! The boys each got a little chocolate chip cookie and Jon and I shared this amazing Nutella stuffed donuts! Insanely good! Like still thinking about it good.
Don’t worry I still had room for my lunch. I ordered a Croque Madame and it was insanely delicious as well!
If you are local to Long Island/NYC I highly recommend taking a trip and having a bite!
On Sunday we celebrated April Fools and Easter! The boys were super excited to prank people so they put a bowl of cereal/milk in the freezer the night before to trick grandpa the next morning. They also swapped out our goldfish with carrots! Jon and I stayed up Saturday night getting our pranks ready as well! We made jello and put in their cups with straws so that when they tried to drink their juice on Sunday morning it wouldn’t budge! Haha. I also took Lucky Charms and made a rice krispy treat mixture with it by adding melted butter and marshmallow and I put it in cereal bowls with the spoons as well. They got a kick out of it in the morning.
Normally we have a lot of family over for holidays, but this year we were all by ourselves, which was nice as well. It was a really low key and relaxing sort of time. Lots of fun with my immediate family, Easter egg hunt, then a scavenger hunt and a yummy meal.
My mom set a really pretty table and used a bunch of foam eggs we decorated as a table runner!
All in all it was an excellent weekend!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well! Whether you were celebrating Passover or Easter or just a fun weekend!
Happy Monday!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
