I adore my kids and I love to nurture them and love on them endlessly, but I must admit it is exhausting. On Mother’s day I would love nothing more than to have some extra time to relax in bed before having to get up for the day and enjoy the day.
My perfect morning scenario would be to wake up naturally! You know no little alarm clocks that like to sneak into my bed in the middle of the night. I haven’t needed an alarm clock since I have had kids, because by 7am the latest they are up and at them!
Then instead of making breakfast for all, waiting up to my favorite cup of coffee and then a breakfast tray on the way is complete bliss!

For breakfast let’s get rid of everything healthy and pretend calories don’t count and treat me to my favorite desserts instead!

Once the coffee is done wouldn’t it be nice to have a mimosa or glass of rose to ease into the day.
In this scenario I will preferably be watching some show on Bravo that no one else in my family enjoys and doing a face mask or two! Currently hooked on watching the new Queer Eye on Netflix. I love this sampler set from Peter Thomas Roth.
While I’m playing around with different skin care products why not catch up on some reading. My latest read is Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern. Cecelia wrote P.S. I love you, which is one of my favorite movies so, I decided to give this book a whirl and so far, so good!
Best part of this little dream scenario is having a little bell to hit whenever my heart desires something that isn’t within reach. I’m not going to lie, Jon is an angel is always running to get me whatever I need on a daily basis. Drinks for nighttime, a popsicle for dessert, my laptop or cell phone. He always goes and gets it and helps me out.
Then once this bliss is all said and done and I actually have to get out of bed I would love to make my bed, because there is nothing I love better than a freshly made bed before I start my day! Seriously! It’s a little pleasure I get. Makes me feel like I already checked something off of my to do list. I could never leave my bed undone. It just doesn’t happen with me. I’m obsessed with my new happy yellow border duvet! Is it not the dreamiest! I know yellow is a color that can scare some people, but it makes me so happy and works with so many room styles!

Moms out there, does this not sound like the best morning? Husbands and partners take note this is what mom’s want. I know that I would love nothing more! Taking these photos was actual bliss! I got to boss my assistants around and lay in the cozy bed while Jon snapped away and by assistants, I mean my mom, who wanted to be a part of it and help.
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I hear you!
