This weekend went by in a flash! We had plans both days, which is nice, but also made the weekend go super quickly! Not a lot of down time unless you count all of the driving.
First up on Saturday was a trip into CT. I love CT so I was happy to head in, but the traffic was awful! My podcast wasn’t even relaxing me. We were heading to a baby shower and I was stressed that we were going to be arriving late. I finally calmed down when I found out the shower wasn’t a surprise. We arrived in Stamford to Mexicue a Mexican restaurant in the Harbor Point area.
Isn’t it the prettiest setting. Talk about not forgetting about the 5th wall aka the ceiling in the interior design world. The ceiling was filled to the brim with these capiz globes. Like the look? This chandelier is similar.
The tables had the cutest metal chairs in a variety of colors. They seem to have been made out of old metal signs.
The tables were dressed up with these colorful floral arrangements complete with mini pinatas!
From the main dining area there was a door out to an amazing outdoor patio overlooking the water. It was a perfect day to enjoy the patio.
I love a theme so I was so happy to see it sprinkled everywhere! No detail was forgotten!
The yummiest dessert with in theme churro cupcakes!
Cactus tea lights were part of the favors along with always loved Hershey kisses that I enjoyed during our car ride home.
On Sunday we hit the road again this time into the city to enjoy an Oktoberfest event at my sister’s apartment building. They have a really pretty courtyard area and it’s always full of kids and yummy food.
Jon enjoyed the festivities!
One of the main reasons we love to go is because of the amazing balloon artist that works the event! His name is Adam and he is awesome! He can make anything even dresses…that you can wear!!!!!
Hudson went classic with a sword!
Asher went with a Ninja that had two mini swords that he was obsessed with!
I patiently waited ok maybe not super patiently waited for my turn. Once he was done with the kids he said he could take a couple of adults! I wanted a rainbow on clouds, but there wasn’t time. So, he rattled off a list of everything I could have and a camel spitting is what caught my attention.
We finished off the day at my sister’s apt relaxing a little bit before heading home. I found my youngest sister’s Build a Bear that we got her as a silly birthday gift and decided she wanted a little rest too! I got her reading glasses, a book, cozy throw and cup of tea. Haha.
I’m sure she is now ready to tackle Monday! Hopefully we all our too!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
