I’m not a make-up pro, but I do love to play around with beauty products and love to share when I find something I love! Today’s gift guide is a round up of my favorites for the beauty maven in your life! I would love to see any of these items under the tree!
No. 1 Natural Bamboo Bow Headband: This is a recent purchase for me and I’m already in love. I don’t wash my hair everyday, but I do wash my face with a cleansing mask every morning and night so it’s nice to use this and not get my hair dirty or wet!
No. 2 Hold Me Hair Clips: I curl my hair and it’s best to separate my hair into sections to get it just right! Love these clips and they are so bright it’s easy to find them rolling around my massive make up bag.
No. 3 Palm Leaf Shower Cap: Isn’t this the prettiest shower cap! It looks like a stylish turban. I also love this Dry Bar shower cap as well. It’s seriously perfection. Never gets any water in!
No. 4 John Frieda Hot Hair Brush: I have had this for two years now and it’s one of my favorite tools. I threw out my flat irons years ago, so, when I want straight hair with a bounce I use this brush. I either let my hair air dry for a while and then finish it off with the hot brush or use it right out of the shower. It works both ways for me. If you have thick hair it will probably be faster to use the hair dryer to get your hair 80 percent dry and then finish it off with the brush. No need to go fancy with the hair dryer. I don’t even use a brush. Just blast it with hot air.
No. 5 Benefit’s Watts Up: I love this highlighter. I don’t use it all of the time, but when I do I always get compliments on my make up. I put a little on my cupids bow, under my eyebrows and on my cheeks. It lasts forever and makes such a difference.
No. 6 L’Occitane Almond Away Set: A couple of years my cousin gifted me with a bottle of L’Occitane Almond Oil. I didn’t really think anything of it and went a couple of weeks not even opening it. Then I tried it and was hooked right away! Your skin will feel amazingly silky smooth after using it. I love to treat myself to it!
No. 7 Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: I have yet to try this out myself, but it has amazing reviews and I have seen so many videos on it that I’m obsessed with getting my hands on it! Plus how pretty is the packaging?
No. 8 Original Wet Brush: I was skeptical that this brush would actually work, but it’s a dream and I love it. Perfect stocking stuffer or pair it with the dry shampoo as a cute gift!
No. 9 Make-up brush cleaning pad: Whenever I see my little sisters make up bag and her brushes I give them a wash. I think it’s the only time it gets done. I think this little mat would make it so much easier and then maybe she would do it as well!
No. 10 Silk Pillowcases: I don’t know about you, but when I wake up my hair looks nutty! Jon and I always joke that it’s full of secrets because it’s so massive and reminds of a line from Mean Girls. These silk pillowcases should help with your out of control bed head and help with spilt ends.
No. 11 Urban Decay Naked Palette: My favorite eye shadow palette. It’s has a great array of colors that work for daytime and them some shimmery numbers for nighttime. It’s a crowd favorite with me and my sisters.
No. 12 Beachwaver: I always get questions about my waves and the secret to them is the beachwaver, which is currently on sale for $99! I have never liked using a curling iron, but with the beachwaver you just need to clamp your hair at the bottom, hit the button and have it twirl on it’s own and wait a couple of seconds before releasing. So, easy!!!
No. 13 Sugar Kitten Mask: There is nothing better than getting into bed and relaxing with a mask. Peel-off masks are my favorite, because the clean up is so easy. I love the holographic look to it is super cool and looks like you are in an instagram filter.
No. 14 Glossier Soothing Face Mist: Do you really need a rose water mist? No. However if you can get your hands on it’s totally amazing. It’s super refreshing and smells amazing. My sister has it and I got to enjoy it over the weekend and I’m hooked.
No. 15 Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick: I was with an amazing make up artist a couple of days ago and she was raving about Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick in pillowtalk. She says it looks amazing on everyone. Who wouldn’t want that!
No. 16 Smith & Cult Nail Polish: I first fell in love with nail polish when Hard Candy went on the market. Remember the bottles with the fun rings on the handle. Well, the owner of Hard Candy started Smith & Cult a non-toxic nail polish brand with the coolest nail polish bottles. They have amazing colors, but the sparkly lover in me is drawn to the glitter polish the best!
No. 17 Coral Stripe Fouta Towels by Crane & Canopy: There is nothing more decedent than a bath sheet! It’s so amazing to wrap yourself up in one! The best part about these fouta towels is that they have look of the fouta and dry very quickly but the inside of the towel still has that fluffy terry cloth feel to them. They are my favorite to use year round.
I want to send this list directly to Santa. So, many great finds!
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
