This year the boys love of Christmas has been infectious. I normally decorate for Christmas, but this year I went extra with all of it. It’s been fun to see them excited when new things come in. Hudson is always looking around making sure it all looks picture perfect and making suggestions for where we need more lights or ornaments! I have created a little mini me that adores all of the little details when it comes to design. It’s a blessing and a curse. Haha. Now I can see how I drive my family nuts with my ideas. Many of the decor items I have picked up have been from thrift stores. It’s been fun to go out hunting and seeing what I can find and how I can re-purpose it for my style. During one of my last trips I found cute faux moss wreaths for $2 and then popped into The Dollar Tree and found cute items to zhush them up!
You can easily pick up a faux moss wreath for less than $5 and get to work on similar wreaths.
First up is my snowman wreath complete with snowballs! Snowmen, white pom poms and red glitter bow were purchased at The Dollar Tree! A little glue gun and you will have a finished wreath in 5 mins!
I was pretty proud of myself about stacking the snowballs on their hands. So cute!
The dollar tree also had sequin Christmas bulbs ornaments. Again with a little glue gun and a bold ribbon I had a wreath in less than 5 mins!
Then I found the best score at The Dollar Tree, sunburst mirrors! They were in brass and silver tones and I picked up 10 of them figuring I could so many things with them!
First easy wreath with the mirrors is to dress up a boxwood wreath. I picked up a fresh one from Trader Joes. With a couple little dabs of hot glue I was able to attach the mirror to the boxwood. The mirrors are plastic and super light.
Love the touch of hot pink ribbon with the red door!
The last wreath display is my favorite even though it’s not a traditional wreath. Ribbon, glue gun and the mirrors is all you need.
Such an impact for $5 and 5 mins of time!
I had so much fun making them and nothing broke the bank. I always hate when a craft project ends up costing so much more than if you bought the ready made item. They are now sprinkled throughout the house and the boys love them!
The snowmen and the mirrors are my favorite! I have three similar dollar store mirrors in my dining room, I’m definitely going to steal this idea and add ribbon to them!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
